This sunny, south facing villa is recently built and in impeccable condition. There are beautiful views to the sea, the mountains, the beach front and the Moorish castle of Salobrena, which are illuminated at night. There is a large, heated pool, which can be fenced off for child safety. There is also hot tub and 2 large open terraces and 2 covered porches, so your comfort is guaranteed.
A very nice feature of this viilla is that the pool, covered porch, kitchen and living/dining room are on the same level. The villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 doubles and 1 twin. The 2 double bedrooms have a terrace. All of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms. The villa is fully air conditioned (hot and cold), so again you will be comfortable and happy regardless of what time of year you choose to visit.
The setting of this villa is very unique and picturesque as the house is built into a huge rock that is bordered by pine trees. It is very peaceful here and one has the feeling of being very close to nature. It is only a 3 minute walk to the community area with communal pool, children's pool, playground, tennis, table tennis, football pitch & basketball hoop. Our guests have complimentary use of these facilities, so feel free to bring your racquets along.

From the private parking area, you ascend a flight of stairs. There is a gate at the top of the stairs, so if you have young children, you don´t have to worry about them going doing the stairs on their own. At the top of the stairs, you encounter the pool terrace, covered porch and the entrance of the villa.
The private heated pool is 9 meters long by 5 meters wide. We have safety enclosures that can be placed around the pool to ensure that young children cannot enter without adult assistance. There is a pretty water fall feature that is built into the pool. There is a covered porch next to the pool with a large gas barbeque and a table for al fresco dining.
The door to the villa is accessed via the covered porch. Upon entering the villa, you encounter the spacious, round, open plan living room, dining room and kitchen. The kitchen has a breakfast bar which is great for kids and for enjoying a glass of wine and a tapa. There are 6 large windows that enable you to enjoy the stunning sea views from every angle. There is a french door for easy access to the terrace and pool area. There is a laundry room and a cloak/powder room on this level.
Upstairs, there are 3 bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. The master bedroom and one of the guest bedrooms have access to a terrace that overlook the pool and again offer magnificent views. The master bedroom has a super king size bed. The guest bedroom with the terrace also has a double bed. The third bedroom has 2 twin size beds and there is space for a twin size air mattress if there are 7 people in your party. There is balcony which leads to the garden area and the roof top terrace where the hot tub is located.
The roof top terrace offers truly panoramic views of the sea, the mountains and the best part is the Moorish castle of Salobrena that is illuminated at night. We have sun loungers up here, so that you can catch the last rays of the afternoon sun and you can relax and enjoy the stars after soaking in the hot tub. It truly doesn´t get better than this.

We have safety enclosures that go around the pool to ensure little ones don´t get near the pool on their own. We also have stair gates. Just let us know what you need and we will have everything set up and in place for you.
We have lots of outdoor furniture, including sun loungers for everyone, and gas barbeque for al-fresco dining!

The Costa Tropical region


The historic city of Granada with the spectacular Alhambra Palace is only 45 minutes away. The small mountain villages of the Alpujarras are well worth exploring. Other places of interest include Almunecar with its markets and Roman ruins, La Herradura with its beautiful harbour and Nerja with its underground caves. Our guests love this area because it is still Spanish and very much unspoilt. It is how the Costa del Sol used to be before it was overdeveloped. This is the right place to come to get a true taste of Spain.
The Salobrena / Monte de Los Almendros area
The beautiful beaches of the Costa Tropical, restaurants and shops are only 5 minutes away affording you the best of both worlds - close proximity to everything yet truly peaceful and relaxing surroundings. Less than a 5 minute walk from the villa is the community recreational area. Our guests have free use of all of the facilities including a large communal pool, children's pool, playground, tennis, table tennis, football pitch and even a basketball hoop. This is a great place for children to socialise with other kids and to use up their excess energy!

AIRPORTS: The closest airports to Salobrena are in Granada, Malaga and Almeria. GRANADA airport is 45 minutes from our villa. However, the majority of our guests use MALAGA airport as there are hundreds of flights daily from all over Europe. Malaga airport is less than an hour away from our villa. Almeria is around 75 minutes away.
CAR RENTAL

Fabulous three weeks at Villa Castillo de Mar which exceeded our expectations at every level. The property was exactly as described, very clean and comfortable, with stunning views. The heated pool (29C) AND hot tub (36C) on the huge roof terrace provided an extra level of luxury which made all the difference. Even with these extras the electricity cost was less than £50 per week. The service we received from Cumbre Villas was flawless from start to finish. Christine provided us with a level of friendly, personal service that you rarely find these days. Very detailed information was provided in the villa on every imaginable subject. Added to this we had extraordinarily good weather every day, cloudless blue skies, over 20C in the sun most days. What more can you ask? If you can drag yourself away from the villa, the local attractions are well worth a visit, even out of season. You have access to the local tennis courts, empty in November, rackets are provided. The markets in Salobrena, La Herradura are both small but good. The fish at Almunecar market (and also at Al Campo supermarket in Motril) is fantastically fresh and varied and, compared to the UK, ludicrously cheap. I recommend you watch the sunset over a glass of something at Buenos on the beach at La Herradura. Frigilliana was well worth a visit, try lunch on the terrace at El Porton. Granada is only about a hour away and needs two days if you have time. Booking a guided tour of the Alhambra in advance was well worth the money, we used www.MiReservaOnLine.es . Try to find time to walk round the Albaicin and up to the Mirador de St Nicholas. Also try La Oliva in Calle Rosario. We stayed at the Parador but would probably try the Hotel America next time. The neolithic site at Los Millares north on Almeria is fascinating. All in all an excellent trip, great value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending Cumbre Villas in general and Villa Castillo Del Mar in particular. |
