The Central Southern England / Wiltshire region
The cottages are on a working organic farm right next to the Fovant badges, military badges carved out of the chalk downs by soldiers who trained on the farm in the first world war.
Located in a very pretty part of Wiltshire with rolling hills on the edge of the South Wessex Downs. The farm is a haven for wildlife, the wild fowers on the downland are spectacular in the Spring
Great touring base Longleat is 20 minutes away, as is Stonehenge, Shaftesbury, Salisbury.
City of Bath, the coast, and the New Forest is less than an hours drive.
A region with a wealth of history, wonderful countryside, and many places of interest for all ages,
Salisbury area
Great for young families, Longleat safari park is 20 minute drive, there is so much to enjoy there it is best to go for a couple of days.
Stonehenge and Avebury are a 30 minute drive away.
Sourhead gardens are quite magical and a lovely day out with a picnic.
The City of Salisbury with it's magnificent Cathedral, has lots to offer, fine dining, Boutique shops as well as the larger chains.
The City of Bath is less than an hour, and is quite wonderful with the newly opened bath spa, perhaps a treat for the ladies!
Shaftesbury is a small Saxon market town. The town is the home of Gold Hill (made famous by the 'Hovis' advertisment) and has magnificent views out over the Blackmore Vale. There is a wide variety of independant shops, pubs and restaurants for the tourist to enjoy, in one of the friendliest towns in the area. Know as the gateway to the South West, leading to the Jurassic coast,
We have several pubs close by with excellent food, and the Ansty farm shop and pick your own (5 MIns) has locally sourced food, plus very tasty home cooked freezer meals, puddings and cakes, so no need to cook if you want a cosy night in, with log fire blazing.
