"Nothing like what it promises - STAY AWAY!"
This place really was a disappointment. Although we had paid the full amount for the entire house the owner locked the master bedroom and when we questioned this he said we had paid a cheaper amount, … More
In response to your poor feedback left for St. Ann's Forge, We're very sad to hear the place was such a disapointment to you. Every guest has thouroughly enjoyed their stay with us, and have highly recommended us to family and friends.
In regards to you paying the full amount for the entire house, this is incorrect. You qualified for the lower rate due to you having 6 or less people in your party.. Upon check-in we did ask the first guests who arrived if you would like it to be opened as a free upgrade, this was declined as the guests advised it wasn't needed. As the last of your party arrived intoxicated (bar one member), we received demanding phone calls telling us you wanted the top floor opened immediately. After the awful language used from your party, we still went ahead and gave you the upgrade. However, when my wife delivered the key, she felt bullied by the male members of the group, handed over the key and left immediately.
The property description on our booking website (which you booked from) clearly states there are only two family bathrooms, and not three as you have said. The property is city centre located, so traffic is to be expected (yes their is traffic noise, but not to the extent you've described). All our bedrooms have new beds, and are furnished with beautiful antique furniture as shown in the photos. We have an 8 year old poggenhole kitchen, and is very fitting with the property. Being a chef by trade, and frequently using the house for dinner parties, I can assure you that it is definately not lacking anything, especially a bread knife.
I arrived to see you off and to make sure everything was ok with your stay at 0955, as I do with many guests. Only to be greeted by ignorance, attitude and the smell of alcohol. After checking out 45 minutes late, our staff managed to enter the property to clean it. Unfortunately, we had to retain your deposit as you lost one of the main keys, therefore we had to replace the whole locking system. Also through the fact of cleaning taking an extra 8 hours where the house was left disgusting, our large sofa being covered in red wine, and smashed vodka bottles within the courtyard.
We will not be taking any further bookings for any member of your party in the future.
