The Annex is a pretty, warm, snug and self contained cottage attached to 1 West Dean, right in the centre of the Village of West Dean. West Dean lies (literally) on the Hampshire/ Wiltshire border and is almost equidistant from Romsey and Stockbridge in Hampshire and Salisbury in Wiltshire.
West Dean recently won the 'Best kept village in Wiltshire' award from the Council for the Protection of Rural England. It is enhanced by the river Dunn, which flows through the centre of the village. There are many local walks, for cyclists, the village is on national cycle route 24, and there is fishing further downstream on the river Dunn and the nearby river Test.
The village has its own railway less than 5 minutes walk from the cottage: Salisbury is the next station going west; Mottisfont and Dunbridge is the next t station going east. Salisbury is an ancient market town, famous for its cathedral, which featured in several John Constable paintings; Mottisfont is famous for its historic Abbey and rose garden owned by the National Trust.
The New Forest is only 15 minutes drive away. Hampworth golf club only 6 miles away.
