The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Pyrenees Atlantiques region
Bordered along the whole of its west coast by the Atlantic Ocean, Aquitaine is bathed in a mild oceanic climate with the influence of the Gulf Stream.
The 2,200 sunshine hours per year make the Bordeaux region similar to the Mediterranean. Along with rainfall that is well distributed over the year, this sunshine is one of the elements which favour vine-growing in Aquitaine.
Biarritz has some of the best surf in the world and great beaches such as La Grande Plage which is dotted with striped bathing tents.
Salies de Bearn / Puyoo area
There is so much to do in the area (everything except snorkelling because of the surfing waves!) it's impossible to list it all but here are some ideas that may be of interest...

Guestbook for Ocean and mountains
We only started renting the house in June 2008 (2010 comments to come!) but here are what our guests have said to date:
We had a great time in your wonderful little house in Puyoo and would recommend it to anybody wishing to visit the general area. My family likes to eat so the kitchen and outside dining area were where we spent most of our mornings and evenings. Alan, Singapore - July 2008
We had a thoroughly enjoyable time in your lovely home. It is ideally situated up on the hillside overlooking Puyoo and, almost without exception; we had our breakfast outside on the front terrace enjoying the view. Phlyn, Lincoln – June 2008
Just back from France and wanted to say what a fantastic house you have. It is lovely and really well equipped. The views and surrounding countryside are beautiful. You were very lucky to find such a perfect house and we are very envious. Alison, Hereford – July 2008
We had a great holiday- didn't want to come home; the house was wonderful it had everything we wanted. Janet, Hereford – August 2008
We had a thoroughly enjoyed our time in your house – your website really doesn’t do it justice. It was lovely to see the deer in the garden in the mornings. Peter, Somerset – September 2008
Just to let you know we are now safely returned to the UK. We had a lovely week in your beautiful Puyoo house. It is in such a lovely area too. As we loved the house and area so much, it is quite possible we could be in touch in the future. Susie, Dorset - September 2008
