About the home

Come and stay in this pretty Béarnaise-style house set between the ocean and mountains, near the historic picturesque spa town of Salies-de-Béarn.

Salies is an attractive medieval town with salt spa, open air pool, good local restaurants, bars, market, shops and local Bearn wine.

Biarritz with its chic shops, restaurants, surfing beaches and sweeping promenade is only 45 minutes away.

The house comfortably accommodates 8 people with 2 double, 2 single bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.

Outside is ample parking, in the back garden a large patio table and barbecue. The lounge dining room has a lovely dining table, TV, video player, DVD and video games. Upstairs is a games room with table football and selections of games.

Linen and towels included in the price - final clean can be arranged for £30. Wi-fi access is £10 per week

The house is in an elevated position, at the front of the house is a covered terrace from where you can overlook the beautiful French countryside with the Pyrenees in the background.

In the back garden is a large patio table with awning and barbecue perfect for those long relaxing meals.
The house is set in its own grounds with ample parking.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Pyrenees Atlantiques region

Bordered along the whole of its west coast by the Atlantic Ocean, Aquitaine is bathed in a mild oceanic climate with the influence of the Gulf Stream.

The 2,200 sunshine hours per year make the Bordeaux region similar to the Mediterranean. Along with rainfall that is well distributed over the year, this sunshine is one of the elements which favour vine-growing in Aquitaine.

Biarritz has some of the best surf in the world and great beaches such as La Grande Plage which is dotted with striped bathing tents.

We had a wonderful time in your well equipped and comfortable house. This is our second time in the Bearn area and most certainly won’t be the last. We also saw the deer in the garden and a wide variety of wild flowers including many different orchids.

We have had a superb 2 weeks here. The weather has been glorious and we have been able to eat on the patio every day that we weren’t eating out. The Pyrenees were absolutely awesome. We went to Pamploma and San Sebastian as well as all the costal towns. A highlight was the Tour de France passing through the village. Sunday lunch at Hôtel Des Voyageurs in the village was excellent and not to be missed.

We have enjoyed a lovely 2 weeks here in Puyoo. The house has been ideal, good location in terms of access to the sites of interest and an excellent base with all the facilities you could hope for. We have been to Pamploma and walked the Bull Run in the old quarter of the town. As expected the food has been wonderful. After all the exertion of the day it has been really nice to come back to the tranquility of the house and the back garden where we could enjoy and evening barbeque and drink on the patio. Salies was still bedecked with the regalia from the Tour de France and looked very festive. We like Salies very much and it was the start of many of our walks. Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy this lovely area of France.

Great week – really hot in the 40s. Salies de Bearn – lovely town, nice shops and eateries. Because it was so hot we spent most of our time at the coast – Biarritz fabulous and Capbreton great beach for the kids. House is fantastic and really well equipped.
