The village retains its charm but boasts some the best restaurants in the area, particularly fish restaurants serving fish caught by their neighbours that morning.
5km away is Parque da Floresta with one of the most picturesque 18 hole golf courses, golf academy & driving range, tennis courts, SPA, bowling greens.

The region remains a haven for international holiday makers, offering a winning combination of a fantastic climate, abundance of cultural life, superb bars and restaurants and world-class golf courses.
Located on the tip of Europe with the vast ocean of the Atlantic as its southern and western border, this enviable position gives this region possibly the most unpolluted climate in the European continent. Surfing and Sailing are both popular activities along this coast line.
The Salema area
SALEMA: "The View" is set in an elevated position overlooking the village of Salema and the stunning coastline. Salema is a picturesque fishing village with a wonderful beach and tourist facilities. One of the delights of spending time here is to watch the fisherman return from the Atlantic with their catch and then indulge in fresh fish within hours of being caught at the villages famed beach restaurants overlooking the beach.
Bordering the Costa Vincentina National Park, there is a world of unspoilt countryside and fabulous surf beaches to explore.
PARQUE DA FLORESTA: Encompassing one of Europe's most picturesque golf courses, Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort has everything you could wish for in the way of holiday activities making it a great destination for both couples and families.
Golfers will enjoy the challenging 18-hole course which winds its way through the resort. The Vigia Golf Academy boasts a state-of-the-art interactive video system and other on-site activities include floodlit tennis courts, championship bowling green and a children's club.
BURGAU: To the east Burgau has absorbed the advance of tourism yet still retains a strong character which remains relatively un-spoilt due to its location in a small cove bound by steep cliffs. The locals still set out to sea in brightly painted boats in pursuit of squid, lobster and sardines as they did a hundred years ago. Nestled on the edge of a national park, the steep streets lead to a horseshoe shaped bay where there is a beach bar, several cafés, bars and restaurants.
LAGOS: Historic Lagos is just 15-20 minutes away by car, a charming old town with winding cobbled streets and a huge selection of restaurants and bars as well as a lively night-life and modern marina.
ACTIVITIES: Championship course Penina, Palmares with its amazing sea views over Meia Praia and Boavista Golf and Leisure Resort are all within 30mins drive. Slide and Splash water park and Zoomarine are about 30-40mins drive away and the local Lagos Zoo is great for the little ones. Horse riding, dolphin watching and grotto trips, jeep safaris and water-based sports can also be arranged.
