Accommodating four guests (plus two with use of the futon beds), Apple Barn is a high quality modern conversion in an excellent unspoiled coastal position within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, situated at the head of a valley leading down to the estuary, with beautiful views to Salcombe and sunsets.

Several sandy beaches are within a 15-minute walk and nearby car parks include the National Trust car park at Mill Bay.

There are scenic walks in all directions from the property including spectacular sections of the South West Coast Path and a track leading down to Mill Bay and the Salcombe estuary. It is a fantastic location for those who love coastal walks, sailing and peace.

Additional Information:

Sleeps four guests (plus two extra guests if using the futon beds). The property is suitable for a maximum of four adults and two children over the age of five years.

Use of the loft room with futons is for older children/teenagers only.

This remote unspoiled location is 15 minutes' drive from the A379, mostly along narrow lanes. Once there you do not need to use a car unless you wish to visit a nearby town. Access between the two barns is via steps internally or a short walk outside.

Nice place ruined by lack of maintenance

This place is in a great location near Kingsbridge & Salcombe and has some good walks to Mill bay and Gara Rock but our stay was ruined by the lack of maintenance by the owner. We were there 5 nig… More

Thank you for your feedback for Apple Barn. It is indeed in a wonderful location at the head of a valley and so close to the sea. We are sorry that there were some small issues all of which have been addressed by the owners. Although the shower was working correctly the plumber has made the controls easier to use. The phone is functioning and the message occurs if it is moved away from the porch when it becomes out of range from the host unit. This can be quite common where there are thick stone walls. The owners are locating a new hot water cylinder against the cold end wall which will create warmth in the wardrobe. A large number of logs are provided at Apple Barn but more can always be provided if requested and the comfort and safety of all guests is of paramount importance to the owners and Rural Retreats.

Thank you for taking the time to let us have your comments following your recent stay. We were sorry to learn that there were aspects of it which did not entirely meet your expectations. Please be assured that the ladder complies with building standards but we appreciate it may not be suitable for all guests. We have ensured that there is a photograph which shows this access clearly and in addition have made note of it in our description of the property. Please accept our apologies for the issue of the parking space. This was an oversight of the guests staying in the neighbouring property, as was the noise made. We have been assured that this will not happen again. We do hope that in the fullness of time you will reconsider and book again with us.

How do damage deposits work?
