"I felt like turning around and going back home when we entered the property"

The property had excellent views and location and that is the only positive thing I can say. Walls were crumbling, decor was poor, no wifi not even a BT hotspot. It was dirty, and considering the pric… More

Thank you for your comments. We're sorry that your stay in August 2013 did not meet your expectations. We took up the issue of cleaning with the company responsible for this as soon as we were aware that there had been issues. We do point out that the house is a Grade II listed character property right on the water front with the living room (the lowest part of the house) just above the high tide mark. We do not have wifi and make no claims to have it; however if asked we do point out the availability of an internet cafe in the town and that a dongle will work in the top room of the house. We were unaware that there was an issue with the lights in the dining room at the time of your stay in August 2013; apologies for this - this has since been fixed. A significant amount of re-decoration has also been done over the winter since your stay and some furniture replaced. We do find that the vast majority of our guests, several of whom come year after year, are positive about their stay in the house and appreciate that they could be paying significantly more for a holiday rental in a location such as this on the Salcombe water front.
