About the home

Luuxry stone clad green roofed air conditioned villas. Each with a Sea View King Master Suite and bathroom ensuite, a Twin Zip Link King and a further Wet Room with power shower. A Sea facing open plan lounge with king sofa bed, comfortable chairs, dining area and state of the art kitchen. All bedrooms have TV/DVD and the lounge has a 50 inch Plasma TV and ipod dock, PS3 and WiFi.

The Ocean Views each have a private patio with patio furniture and private barbecue facilities and then leading out on to shared gardens of Soar Mill Cove Hotel, and the hotels leisure facilities including indoor pool and lawn tennis as well as play room and play area. The villas look directly out towards the Eddystone Lighthouse and lead directly into the National Trust countryside through the meadow to beautiful Soar Mill Cove.
Guest and Families of all ages are very welcome and with direct countryside access they are suitable for guests with well behaved dogs.

The Ocean Views have their own store to hang wet suites and walking boots and are equipped with body boards, crab lines, fishing nets and buckets and spades for the beach.
Please note The Ocean Views are open all year but the hotel and its leisure facilities are only available when the hotel is open from Valentines to November.

The Ocean Views have been architect designed with landscaping and use of natural materials to ensure minimum impact of the environment and maximum advantage of their views. They have green roofs of sedum, grass, sea pinks, thrift, heather and chamomile and are edged with gorse with its honeyed blossom.
The landscaping provides a habitat and sanctuary for birdlife and reptiles of our valley and an extensive eco system of wildlife. Modern day techniques as well as forgotten systems of irrigation, rain harvesting, low energy consumption and low light pollution technology are employed to maximum effect.

The Indoor Heated Swimming Pool is available all year however the other facilities of the hotel are only available when the hotel is open between Valentines and November.
Guests at Ocean Views receive 10% discount at Soar Mill Cove Hotel.
Please note although in the grounds of Soar Mill Cove Hotel, The Ocean Views are privately owned, as is West Soar by Keith & Jenny Makepeace. These are both labours of love for Keith and Jenny and they insist on the highest levels of housekeeping and presentation for all their holiday properties. As of course they live on site at West Soar Barn they are always on hand to ensure your every need is catered for.
Tabs may of course be run for bar bills and dining at Soar Mill Cove Hotel, which can be settled upon departure less10% discount.

Conditions

A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking with the balance payable 4 weeks prior to arrival
We request a refundable security deposit of £200 (or £300 with dog/dogs) payable prior or on arrival.
You will find we are extremely flexible to your specific requests.

Ocean Views @ Soar Mill Cove are situated in the South Hams area of South Devon. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with glorious beaches and coast and plenty of unspoilt countryside.

Nearby are the harbour towns of Dartmouth and Salcombe. Salcombe, the nearest town to Soar Mill Cove, is a popular resort for fishing, shopping, some great places to eat out as well as the lovely beaches.

Dartmouth, founded by the Normans, has long been used for trading, mainly due to it being a deepwater port. Now it is a popular sailing resort, as well as having a small fishing fleet.

Totnes is located further upstream on the River Dart, on the West bank. Historically Totnes was an inland port that exported cloth around the world. Some architecture from its heyday remains and there is still a small working port down on the river.

We have 4 golf courses within a half hour drive, 2 very near Thurlestone 18 hole and Bigbury 18 hole both with beautiful sea views and then Dartmouth with both 18 hole and 9 hole as well as Thurlestone Hotel 9 hole course.

A car is necessary to fully enjoy a holiday at Soar Mill Cove, however direct train services from Paddington to Totnes in under 3 hours and a Gatwick to Plymouth air service via Air South West as well as direct transatlantic services to Bristol with Continental and a reliable and local car hire provider mean that holiday makers from worldwide destinations are very welcome.
