We hired this house for a long weekend. As we stayed in low season (March) the owner was very flexible over dates and in the end we booked for four nights. We were a group of 11 adults and the house easily accommodated us, not just in terms of number of beds/rooms but never felt cramped in the living areas. Loads of space for everyone to sit about, reading, watching tv and room for us all at the dining room table. We were also lucky enough to be able to use the garden. The master bedroom was incredible, takes up the top floor and is huge. A big balcony with incredible views was quite special, ensuite also nice. The bedrooms are all a very good size and although only the master has ensuite, there were sinks in all the others. As well as the ensuite two other good bathrooms and a loo downstairs, no one was ever hanging about waiting to shower and no crossed legs queuing for the loo. Have booked other holiday homes and some of them feel exactly that and are quite sparse, that isn't the case at crows nest, we felt very at home. Ate in on two of the nights and found the kitchen very well stocked with pots and pans and utensils, also had loads of cookery so no need to wash a cup every time you wanted a drink. One the other nights we ate at one of the local pubs in salcombe (victoria inn which by the way wouldn't recommend). On the last night ordered Indian takeaway which was delivered from kingsbridge, top notch service and very decent food. Overall would definitely recommend this house, very clean, well stocked and booking was easy, exchange of emails with owner who was very pleasant to deal with. |
