This apartment has absolutely fantastic views, as can be seen in the photos. It is in a superb location with an amazing freshwater swimming pool with a pool bar/restaurant that serves food from breakfast to dinner. (Closed Mondays) It is a nonsmoking apartment aimed at couples. (smoking on balcony only) No animals are allowed in the apartment. There is nothing better than sitting on the west facing balcony watching the sea and the sunset!......with a glass of something perhaps! It is at the front of the development with sea views. It is not overlooked by people using the pool or bar.

There is a local little shop for most necessaties in the next block, along with a little cafe. It is only 5 to 10 minutes walk to Sal Rei and bakers, butchers, market, supermarkets and fish market. There are also many very good restaurants. These can be found on Trip Advisor. The bar/restaurant at Vila Cabral 2 is called Elcibar and is run by a Belgian couple and the food there is excellent. If you walk into town for a meal, a taxi back is 3 to 4 euros.

The apartment has just about everything you would need on holiday. It is my holiday home and has everything I need anyway! There is even an iron!!! (No ironing board....but as of yet I haven't needed the iron anyway!) The balcony has a bistro table and two chairs, and also there are two sun loungers. the bedroom has plenty of space and has another table and two chairs, as well as the bed and bedside cabinets and a big wardrobe for clothes.

Boa Vista is a relaxing holiday.....unless you want to go scuba diving, quad biking, snorkeling etc. I enjoy walking through the town and on up the beach to the beach bars for lunch and then wander back. (Or get a taxi if I feel lazy.....they are quite cheap) There are also lots of tours to visit various parts of the island. Although quite barren the beaches are amazing and the colours in the landscapes and plants are beautiful. Turtles and whales when in season are also great to see.

The kitchen is well fitted with 4 gas ring hob, extractor hood, oven and grill, toaster, kettle, and crockery and cutlery etc. There are games....cards, scrabble, dominoes, a jig saw and a TV/DVD as well as a radio/i pod dock. So take your own music and videos! TV is in Portuguese.

Transfer from the airport can be arranged, but it's not difficult to get a taxi. Initial shopping can be arranged for you at a cost, but I find it is easiest to take tea, coffee, sugar, etc in bags, or oil for cooking in a little make up bottle! Milk, bread etc can be bought very locally in the next block, or 5 to 10 minute walk to main shops in town.

This is a non smoking property, but you may smoke on the balcony.

Water and electricity on the island are in short supply and expensive. They will be metered and charged in euros by my manager on check out. Usually 20 to 40 euros, depending on how long you stay in the shower!!! This seems the fairest way of dealing with it otherwise I need to make sure I cover it in my weekly charge, and some people will use less than others.

Feel free to ask any questions. I will respond as soon as I can. If you want a quote for more than a week please do contact me.

I am opening a euro account to make returning deposits to non UK guests easier.

Wi Fi is available at the bar.

The Barlavento Islands region

Boa Vista is an Island that is easy to relax on! There are many new restaurants and bars and the quality of the food is good. The beaches are great and many tours visit the far away beaches and often stop in local villages, and end up perhaps at a beach bar for a drink or meal. The diving is supposed to be excellent......unfortunately I only see photos of the many fishes!!!

If you fancy an exciting, and dusty, quad bike tour of the island there are many available. Or you can hire a driver and vehicle for the day to take you wherever you want on the island.

Sal Rei

The apartment is on Cabral Beach. Great views and always something to see. Along the beach a little way are some rock pools. The rocks are contrasting colours and it is always lovely to spot things in the pools when the tide is out. At the complex is a lovely bar/ restaurant that has very good food. A Belgian couple run it . They speak excellent English and are very helpful and friendly. So if you feel too lazy to go to the many restaurants in town to eat you can eat at VC2 every day except Monday, when they close.

There is a little shop in the next block that sells most things that you need. Bread, milk, bottled water etc.....so easy to get bread for breakfast and not too far to carry water!

There is a filter on the cold tap and it is then supposed to be drinkable, but I still use bottled water to drink. I use filtered water for tea and coffee, washing salad and brushing teeth.

5 minutes walk is a local bakery that have a variety of breads and a couple of minutes on is Boa Compras......the department store!!! Worth a look, and they have food and drink etc on the ground floor. You can buy just about everything there.

In the town of Sal Rei itself are shops, restaurants, bars, vegetable and fruit market, fish market, and the jetty where the fishing boat come in. Also many people selling souvenirs.
