There is plenty to do and see in the area, or just recline on a sun lounger by the pool and read a book. There is something for everyone; visit the coastal town of Arcachon with its historic buildings and superb seafood restaurants. For young children there is Lacanau Lac, a small in-shore lake perfect for paddling, pedaloes and biking.
The region is renowned for its abundance of fine wines which are known throughout the world, especially the warm full bodied red wines of the Bordeaux region. There are many local domains, chateaux and co-operatives offering wine tasting.
