Local markets at Castillion La Bataille( Monday) and Bergerac (Wednesday) also offer a fine array of locally produced food, fruit and vegetables and many other products.

The local town of Gensac( 2.5 kms) is well serviced by a mini supermarket, two boulangeries,a pharmacy, newsagent, two doctors surgeries, three restaurants, two bars and two municipal tennis courts.

"Lovely house in the heart of wine growing country"

We are a family of 4 (2yr old and 5.5yrs old) and we had a lovely two week stay in this beautiful house. The 2yr old had her 2nd birthday whilst at the house, we had lunch in L'envers du decor in St Emilion and the local patisserie in Gensac made us a cake, both were marvelous. Both children learnt to "swim" in the pool which at one point was 31c!! Who needs heating! The house is large and the rooms very comfortable and cool if you are sensible with the shutters. Chateau Martet is our recommendation for wine, a little more expensive, but def worth it.

All in all, we had a fabulous 2wks and were blessed by the weather and would definitely recommend. The bond was also returned within days of our return.

"Don't rent - he is a cheater"

The house is okay, although not near as nice as the description and pictures makes it out to be.
However, what is more serious is that the owner demands a GBP500 "bond" as a deposit for any damages you may make. However, he does not return this "bond" and so your rental becomes much more expensive than you expect !
So, our advise is - stay away.

The client's bond was returned albeit later than stated in the conditions simply due to the fact that the owner had been undergoing cancer treatment.
