This detached 3 double bedroom 19th century stone farmhouse is set in the heart of picturesque Normandy countryside, on the outskirts of the village of St Aubin des Bois and just 25 minutes drive from wonderful beaches. Just a 5 minute drive from the historic and enchanting market town of Villedieu les Poeles, famed for its fine copperware, beautiful shops and restaurants. It is an easy 1 hours drive from Caen car ferry port.
The farmhouse can comfortably sleep 6 + 1 baby as it has 3 double bedrooms, one of which has twin beds + a travel cot. The very large and spacious lounge / diner has a gorgeous granite fireplace, exposed stone walls and an oak beamed ceiling. There is a separate kitchen and downstairs WC. Two of the bedrooms and the bathroom are on the first floor, the third bedroom is on the ground floor.
This property is situated in the heart of the Normandy Countryside, yet just 25 minutes from beautiful beaches.

The Normandy / Calvados region
Normandy is a beautiful area of North Western France . It's history, ancient monuments and architecture, rolling hills, never-ending beaches and historic towns make it an enchanting holiday destination for young and old alike.
Le Mont St. Michel, France's second most popular tourist attraction after the Eiffel Tower is just a half hour drive away. Other nearby tourist attractions include the Bayeaux Tapestries and D-Day Landing Beaches.
The pretty fishing port of Honfleur, with its maze of cobbled, pedestrian-only streets and excellent seafood restaurants, is a wonderful day out. The seaside resort of Granville and the quieter, natural sand-dune backed beach of Brehal are just half an hour away.
Saint-Sever-Calvados area
St Aubin Des Bois is just a ten minute walk away, there is a Cafe Bar and shop in the centre of the village.The larger market town of Villedieu Les Poeles, 5 minutes away, has an indoor swimming pool, large weekly market selling everything from food to clothing, fine shops, bars,restaurants and hotels.
St Sever Forest is just a 10 minute drive away and is well worth a visit, the famous Lake Dathee is located there and offers fishing, swimming and watersports.
How to get there
Ferry crossings are readily available from Poole and Portsmouth to Caen / Cherbourg - the farmhouse is around 1-1.5 hours drive from the ferry ports along main roads/ motorways. Alternatively you can cross from Dover to Calais and drive down which takes approx. 4 hours.
Dinan airport is approx. 1 hour drive from the farmhouse.

Further details indoors: The Farmhouse is set in over an acre of private, secluded grounds and south-facing sunny gardens. There is an area for the Patio table and chairs outside the farmhouse, a barbecue is provided. There are fruit trees within the grounds, including the famous Calvados cider apples, which provide a rich harvest every year. The property is very peacefully located making it a great place to relax, unwind and soak up the atmosphere. It offers spectacular views over rolling Normandy hills and lush countryside.

Heating is provided by a woodburning stove in the lounge and a Calor gas heater, Wood and Bottled Gas are available, additional supplies are to be purchased by the customer if required.
