Key Info
  • Beach / lakeside relaxation
  • Great for children of all ages

Come to the Laurentian mountains of Quebec province to swim, ski, or stroll, and then stay in our cozy, comfortable attic loft. Just like staying in your grandmother's attic, without needing to do any chores!

Separate unit from our downstairs quarters, you have two rooms, one closed off from the others. Both have queen-sized futon beds. Bathroom with shower, sink, toilet. No kitchen but we offer tea kettle, coffeemaker, small fridge, and microwave in your loft. Possible freshly cooked breakfast and brought upstairs to you for an additional fee.

Our town is exactly in the middle of the Laurentians. We are 5-10-15 minutes away from various local ski hills, 10 minutes from a yoga ashram (Sivendanda), 10-20 minutes from all kinds of outdoor spas, 25 minutes from ski resort towns of Saint-Sauveur and also Mt Tremblant. 5 minutes from gorgeous ski de fond trails. Sleigh rides, tubing, ice skating, walking with raquettes in the deep woods, all within minutes from our house.

It's a complete winter wonderland...in the winter!

In the summer, it's also majestic. Frogs and cicadas will serenade you. We are literally 3 minutes' walk to the beach. Our house is semi-secluded in the woods but we're close to everything.

There is just enough altitude from our little mountains to make the air fresh and temperate. The same high degree temperature feels worse in Montreal (or Boston or Chicago) than in Ste Agathe des Monts. Our house is also surrounded by many trees. We do not get a lot of direct sunlight. As a result of these factors, our house rarely gets uncomfortable. In fact none of the neighbors high up on the mountain with us has air conditioning. We do however have the occasional hot day that requires a fan, and that almost always does the trick. We provide you with 2 fans.

The town of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts is mostly francophone, but everyone's friendly. Our guests have enjoyed the town, even those who don't speak a word of le français.

We offer a "Things to Do" list of activities and places to go to that we ourselves have done to all comers. Feel free to add or disregard the list as you will.

We are LGBT friendly, family-friendly, welcoming to all good people of any persuasion. Come on over for a visit.

We have hosted guests here for a number of years using another booking service (rhymes with hair bee and bee). Check out our reviews there for listing 47600.

The Quebec region

Ste Agathe des Monts has a huge lake (Lac des Sables) that, when frozen, offers ice skating, sleigh rides, and wind surfing sports. There is a gorgeous cross country trail just down the hill from us that is majestic. If you want to rent a ski-doo that is easy enough, with trails that are well marked and close to our house. Downhill skiing is available everywhere - 5 mins to 35 minutes away, depending on you taste in hills. We are 25 minutes away from Mt Tremblant, the premiere ski resort of Eastern(isn) North America.

Snow. Imagine snow from movies, books, television. And not multiply that image a hundredfold. That's the kind of snow we get. Very fun except in the springtime when things tend to get icy.

Saint Sauveur des Monts

We are hour north of the big bad city of Montreal.
