Fréjus (4 km): an area rich in archaeological heritage , religious heritage and military heritage and the “Mémorial de l’Armée Noire” . The Massif des Maures reaching from Hyères (94 km) to Saint-Raphaël: the coast, with its numerous resorts, offers viewpoints and attractive sites all along the magnificent tourist route called the "Corniche des Maures". Inland, the countryside has many shady valleys and wild ravines. The Argens Valley separates this countryside from the Massif de l’Estérel. The Massif de l’Estérel: between St Raphaël and La Napoule (34 km), this natural setting is one of the most beautiful regions of Provence, stretching right down to the sea in places. To be seen: Ste Maxime (25 km), St Tropez (40 km), the lakeside dwellings at Port Grimaud (33 km), Gassin (39 km) and Ramatuelle (40 km), two picturesque villages built on the hillside, offering superb views.
Saint Raphael / Valescure area
The architectural style of its Villas evokes St Raphaël’s gracious past including the Rouquerousse Villa (1900), the Sémiramis Villa (with its eastern charm) and the Paquerettes Villa (ceramic decor). The René Coty promenade and Général de Gaulle Boulevard, lined with plane and palm trees, offer a beautiful view of the sea and red twin rocks. To be seen: the church of Notre Dame de la Victoire in Lépante, the Valescure district on the right bank of the Garonne, the Old Town with the remains of its ramparts, the old port, the Archaeological Museum, the church of St Pierre des Templiers.
