About the home
Mas de Gardou is a classic French farmhouse in a peaceful little hamlet. It has the perfect combination of being rural, and away from any hustle and bustle, yet is less than 10 minutes drive from all the facilities you'd need. Large gardens surround the house, with different parts of the gardens offering different options. Relax by the pool, surrounded by lavander, with plenty of loungers and a hammock. There is also a large eating area by the pool, with a 12 foot stone table to accomodate a large group.
Play boules on our newly installed boules court. Relax in another hammock in the shade of the trees, while watching the kids bounce on the trampoline. Or take a breather under the shade of the terrace, on the comfy sofas. The house itself has every comfort. 4 very large double bedrooms, 1 with 2 doubles for kids to share. A bathroom with a large bath and separate shower, and a further separate toilet and shower room on the top floor. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the living room has comfy sofas, an impressive wood burning stove, and UK satellite TV. The house also has Wifi.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn-et-Garonne region

Tarn-et-Garonne lies in the south west of France amid sun-drenched, rolling hills dotted with vineyards and dramatic river gorges eroded from the rock by the ceaseless flow of rivers; rivers that sparkle serenely in the sunlight as they cascade through the landscape.
The department is one of the smallest in France in terms of population, and, compared to the other areas of the Midi-Pyrénées, of which it is a part, Tarn-et-Garonne is a sparsely-populated rural area, where traditional agriculture and natural beauty make way only for beautiful towns brimming with historic architecture and quaint hillside villages.
The Saint Projet Village / Saillagol area
Gardou is a tiny hamlet outside Saillagol (also tiny!). This is a sleepy part of South West France, away from all the hustle and bustle. Caylus is the closest village with a supermarket, pharmacy, bakers, butchers, a couple of bars, and a couple of restaurants - Caylus is a 10 minute drive.
Villefranche de Rouergue is about a 30 minute drive and is the main town with Hypermarches, department stores etc. There are great markets in the area at Caylus, Saint-Antonin (20 mins), Villefranche, and Limogne (15 mins).

Guestbook for Mas de Gardou
James Barker 23-Jul-2009 A wonderful place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful ambience. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.
The Wellbeloves 08-Apr-2009 What a wonderful farmhouse and grounds. We have had so much fun at Mas de Gardou. Highlights - relaxing by the pool, boules championship and beaucoup de rose. Lunch at Au Rince Cochon and the Market at St Antonin are not to be missed. Luke, Jayne, George, Oscar and Mabel Wellbelove
Have survived 2 weeks at Mas de Gardou with famille. So many things to talk about but the rose beckons. Market at Villefranche well worth a visit (very French) also the hilltop village of St Cirq Lapopie. We'll be back. Barbara and Geoff, (Wellbelove Grandparents)
Tony Moorhouse 18-Aug-2009 Lovely place. Much enjoyed the P & Q. The glorious weather and the pool was a magical combination. Rose and foie gras another. St Antonin (Sunday), Cordes sur Ciel and St Cirq Lapopie - especially swimming in the Lot at the latter. All very enjoyable and we are sorry to leave so soon. PS Dinner at la Grange de Clos truly remarkable.'
Tony & Therese, Roger & Melissa, Oscar, Amelia and Jamie Moorhouse.
Peter Gerrish 21-Aug-2009 Pete, Kendra, Thalia, Denis, Raye, Chris, Elton, Jessica, Luke, Emily and Sean Gerrish.
Wish we could stay another week. Beautiful house and the pool was fantastic. Kids loved the trampoline too. Luke's (age 8) words -"The best ever week".
