Mas D l'Estaing is set in beautiful forested countryside in the south Quercy Causses opening into the Aveyron Gorges. The cottage is in-keeping with its age but we have provided modern facilities to make your holiday comfortable and memorable. A very large lounge opens into a delightful garden with plenty of sun yet a shaded dining area alows you to enjoy the garden throughout the day.

There are three bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities and a separate bathroom serving the other. A well stocked potager is available for guests use.

Within 10 minutes there are two beautiful towns, Caylus and Limogne En Quercy each with bars and restaurants and shopping facilities. In 20 minutes you could be in Villefranche De Rouergue, a greatly preserve bastide city with a great amount of facilities and a fabulous Thursday market.

The cottage is heavily beamed on the ground floor with very thick stone walls making for a cool reception in the heat of the summer. The upstairs is well converted in an A-frame with velux windows and cooling white walls. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is an utility room with extra facilities.

The garden is such a special feature. Surrounded by old walnut and lime trees and full of fragrant herbs there is both sun and shade throughout the day.

The Midi-Pyrenees region

Mas D 'Estaing is set just into Tarn-et-Garonne wiht the Quercy Causses above and the Aveyron Gorges below. The area is famed for stunning scenery and from just above the house the Pyrenees are visible.

Typically there are long Springs and Summers with Autumn providing those lovely Indian Summers - even into November when the temperature, while cool at night, can reach 25 degrees during the day.

Winters tend to be sharp and cold and mercifully short allowing the garden growing season to be kicked off not too long after New Year.

Cahors, Rodez, Montauban and Villefranche are all fairly close and worth exploring - especially on market days. Further afield there are the Gorges of the Tarn and, of course, the Pyrenees. You can reach either the Med or the Atlantic in just over three hours.

On the other hand just a short trip up the road is the tiny St Circ Lapopie - surely one of the most picturesque villages in the whole of Europe.

More locally - just a couple of fields away - we have a great restaurant serving little but pig!! Well well worth it.

Saint Projet Village

Caylus is a Cite Medieval and on some days its hard to tell which year you are in, so quaint are the streets and houses.

A little further is St Antonin Noble Val - a gorgeous ton set on the river Aveyron and holding a superb weekly street market not to be missed
