La Petite Grange – Self contained holiday gite with 10m pool.
This 19th Century barn has been beautifully restored and converted by the current owners to offer traditional French country accommodation. Exposed beams and original stonework are complemented with contemporary décor and furnishings, making this the ideal getaway for those who appreciate both rustic charm and modern convenience.
La Petite Grange has been designed with adults in mind. It comprises a well equipped kitchen area, comfortable lounge, a downstairs bathroom with shower and a large, airy double bedroom accessed by a traditional open staircase. Outside, you will enjoy the sunny south-facing gardens and large outdoor heated pool which overlook the stunning local scenery.
On site owners Marion and Graham have lived in St Projet for many years and are happy to share with you their knowledge of the local area and it's many attractions and activities. Books, games and DVD's are also available free of charge.
Perfect for both short holidays and longer stays, La Petite Grange is the ideal base to explore this region of outstanding natural beauty or to simply sit back, relax and hide away from the world.

The Midi-Pyrenees / Tarn-et-Garonne region
Known for its green rolling landscape and rivers flowing through spectacular gorges, the area will suit anyone who loves walking, cycling, fishing, horseriding and nature in general. There are fortified villages (bastides) and Cathar castles; bustling markets and local fetes or just simply relax and enjoy a glass of wine.
For art lovers, visit Albi and the Toulouse Lautrec Museum.
Moissac - Abbaye St Pierre and jazz festival in July, classical concerts in July and August.
Cahors - Blues Festival in July
Millau - take a trip across the stunning Millau bridge or visit the Roquefort caves.
The Saint Projet Village area
Situated in the secluded hamlet of Mas De Guinet, La Petite Grange is the perfect place for exploring the beautful unspoilt countryside.
Just a short cycle along gently winding lanes is St Projet which is home to a 13th Century chateau which boasts quite a story! The village hosts some lively fetes in the summer - the Giant Omelette and Marché Gourmand take place in July and August. Not to be outdone, nearby Parisot has the Giant Paella evening and impressive fireworks.
The rivers Lot and Aveyron are only half an hour's drive away, where canoes can be hired. There are several beautiful villages within easy reach. Our local restaurant is 5 minutes drive and the nearest supermarket is a 15 minute drive.
The local markets are not to be missed - St Antonin has a very lively market on Sunday mornings; Villefranche de Rouergue's market is on Thursday mornings but our favourite is Limogne on Sunday morning which is a quieter farmer's market.
The bastide village of Cordes-sur-Ciel is well worth a visit - on the way you drive through some of the Gaillac wine area, so why not stop at one of the vineyards for a 'degustation'. Try picturesque Najac with its Cathar castle, or St Cirq Lapopie overlooking the river Lot.
Our favourite restaurant, La Grange du Cros, has a lovely ambience and is very popular - don't forget to book!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Graham and Marion's cottage just outside Saint Projet for a week in early August, the cottage itself exceeded expectations with a clean bathroom, fully kitted kitchen and a gorgous loft bedroom with exposed rafters and a good finish. The cottage also had wifi internet and UK sky (which was handy considering the Olympics were on) and a large swimming pool in the garden for cooling off in the hot afternoons. The hosts are lovely and make sure the kitchen is stocked with the essentials, tea, coffee, salt pepper, oil, herbs, milk on arrival and are there for recommendations. Our favorite local place was Saint Cirq Lapopie however the Milau viaduct and Galliac wine region are all nearby for day trips and the local markets were also a winner. The only item we struggled on were there aren't any local restaurants in easy walking distance but if you don't have a problem having a designated driver then you have everything you need around you. |
