So much to choose from..and easy to access. Swim in the local rivers, lakes or Mediterranean. Dine in excellent value restaurants in stunning locations in an unhurried relaxed environment. Charming small towns await you with their markets offering all the local produce. Truly between ''Mer et Montagne' with the background of the Cathar country.

St.Chinian is famous for its red wines and many of the local vineyards offer free tasting. Minervois is just over the hill and St Jean de Minervois is worth a visit to taste the muscat. The medieval town of Minerve ouses charm and the olive factory at Bize Minervois is worth a visit The'piste verte' is easily accessible and offers a lovely long stretch of traffic free cycling, much of it fairly flat. Although for the more adventurous there are hill tracks and cycling all around. Cycles can be hired locally. The Canal du Midi is nearby with excursions on the Canal or strolls along the shaded paths under the plane trees.Gorges d'Heric is 30 minutes away with opportunities for rock climbing and the Grottes de Deveze have an underground adventure in store. Kayaking is in Roquebrun , with well organised trips, some over rapids, along the river.

During the summer months the Mediterranean resorts come to life and have amusement parks, beach activities and shows to entertain us all. The beaches are particularly children friendly with gently shelving golden sands.

"Home from home"

I stayed here for a week at the end of September 2013. I arrived to a warm reception from the hosts who were extremely welcoming. Their hospitality throughout my stay was excellent - the food was always delicious! The room I stayed in was very clean and the bed was extremely comfy! Given the location, there was always something to do - be it cycling up a mountain, walking round ruins or kayaking down the river! All in all, I had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to a friend!

Warm welcome, warm fire, warm food ! Good overnight stay. Nice country setting with plenty of open space and easy to find. English TV a bonus.

"Ideal location in the hills between St Pons and St Chinian"

Le Plo de Cathalo is a family home situated about midway between St Pons de Thomiers and St Chinian. The owners, Steve and Margaret, are a pleasant and welcoming couple who can provide a wealth of information about the locality and suggestions for places to visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The house is set in large grounds, providing plenty of space to stroll or relax outside. Whether passing through or staying for a few days, this B&B represents excellent value.

We appreciate your kind comments.

"Brilliant stay in Le Plo de Cathalo"

My stay in France was brilliant! the accomodation was welcoming and homely with everything needed for a lovely holiday, including a private
pool! I had very tasty food every day in a warm, friendly environment. The surrounding area is beautiful and there is always something to keep
you busy from kanoeing down the river in the sun or sunbathing on the beach. Perfect for people who want adventure and activity or those who
just want to take a break!
