The Island of Malta region
St. Paul's Bay and its surrounding areas: The coastline in the St., Paul's Bay area has some wonderful open sea views and a vista across to St Paul's Island, where, according to legend, the ship carrying the Apostle is said to have been wrecked. Standing prominently on the isle is a large statue of the Apostle commemorating this legendary event.
The coastline promenade provides a long, though mostly level and easy walk from St Paul's Bay all the way to Qawra Point, with its tower and views over Salina Bay. St Paul's Bay started life as a small fishing village and one can still see these going out to sea in the early hours. The parish church, built in 1617, was carefully restored after suffering heavy damage in World War II. Nearby is the Wignacourt Tower built in 1610 during the reign of Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt. It served as Malta's northern-most defensive outpost until fort St. Agatha was built in Mellieha in 1649.
Today, it houses a small museum dedicated to Malta's rich military-architectural heritage. St. Paul’s Bay is located on the North East coast of Malta and is the largest resort on the north of Malta, 15kms from Valletta. The old town of St. Paul’s Bay has extended to the south and engulfed the popular tourist areas of Bugibba and the newer resort of Qawra. This is a large and popular tourist area and part of neighbouring resorts, stretching for 5km along St. Paul’s Bay, around Qawra Point and into Salina Bay.
A picturesque resort with good attractions and easy access to some of Malta's finest scenery and best rocky beaches. This is traditionally Malta's largest summer resort and can be split into four areas of contrasting age and amenities - Xemxija, Bugibba, Qawra and the Old Town. Of the group, Bugibba, is the largest resort in the area, with good views of St Paul’s Bay and its islands.
Proving its popularity, Bugibba has the liveliest nightlife, a cinema, bingo hall and even a casino, however St.. Paul's Bay still offers the best views and the quieter side of life. Almost the entire foreshore is rocky, In many locations the rocks are flat and suitable for sunbathing There are 3 small harbours along the sea front either in the old town area of St Paul's bay or in Bugibba Swimming and snorkeling is popular from the rocks. The entire area is great for water sports. There is a small beach at the head of St Pauls Bay, the rest is rocky.
Saint Paul's Bay
The nearest large sandy beaches are about 8km away at Mellieha Bay and further away in Golden Bay. There is a regular bus route to these beaches from St Pauls Bay. Next door is Bugibba which is the main hub of activity at night in the area, but te old town St. Paul’s Bay has a selection of quieter bars and cafes.
Some of the hotels in this area also have their own nightclubs and special nights of entertainment. The area is well covered with tourist cafés and restaurants whilst more sophisticated dining can be found at Old St. Paul's Bay.

My husband & I stayed at Aqua for 2 months February & MarchWe chose this apartment mainly because of the location and it did not disappoint it has a million dollar view looking over St Paul's Bay… More
We wish to thank these guests from Canada for having stayed with us and also for having taken the time to write such a wonderful review. It was a pleasure to have this couple for the winter months of February and March, and despite the weather (which is not always kind, although Malta does boast of 299 days of sunshine a year), we're glad to know that they had a great time and would also consider returning back to Malta.
As the guests rightly mentioned, we do have a fixed (free) telephone line in the apartment (as we do in all our other apartments) so the guests can reach us when and if they wish. We understand that going on holiday in a foreign land that there will be requests and questions but we always try to make ourselves available to answer promptly but more importantly to act immediately as we believe that all our guests deserve the best service.
Our attempts to fix the curtains have demonstrated that we cannot be experts in everything (this business does however teach you to be a hands-on person) and so we are now giving this work to more experienced people (who have informed us that it is the rails that need replacing, something that is being done over the next couple of weeks).
We also love to take in the view whenever we need to visit the apartment - it is really breath-taking, almost like being on a cruise liner in a port, but we prefer to hear our guests comment on this instead.
Once again, thank you for the lovely thoughts and our best wishes to the both of you.

"St Paul's Bay Duplex, Malta"
We stayed for three weeks in the Aqua duplex apartment in St. Paul's Bay, Malta. The apartment is situated overlooking the spectacular St. Paul's Bay, in a very quiet residential street. Th… More
We thank the guests for having stayed with us during November and for having posted their review.
We had ourselves been away for a month (long overdue), and only arrived back in Malta 2 days after the arrival of these guests. For this reason we had not seen the guests but provided them with all contact details, both ours and those of our assistants. We are sorry we did not know about the pillows before but we have in the meantime replaced these (although normally these are also equipped with pillow protectors apart from the usual pillow slip). As the guests pointed out, the touch-up paintwork has been completed after a very busy time spanning from March to the end of these guests' stay in late November.
Once again we thank the guests and wish them a wonderful new year.

"Wonderfully relaxing holiday!!"
We had a wonderful holiday at Aqua. Josanne and Paul were very kind and concerned that we enjoyed our stay. They met us at the airport and drove us around St Paul's Bay twice to ensure we knew where the local supermarket, buses, restaurants etc were. The tasty welcome pack included a bottle of Asti to enjoy with our first BBQ. The flat is just as comfortable and spacious as it looks in the pictures. The views are breathtaking and ensure a relaxing holiday. Standing in the sitting room is like being on a boat, all you see ahead is blue sea!The upstairs terrace is spacious well equipped with furniture and a gas BBQ, and totally private. The flat is close to all amenities and we did not need to hire a car. It was our first trip to Malta and we loved it, and this apartment.

"A view to die for...."
Returned from Malta at the beginning of August having thoroughly enjoyed family time at Aqua. It's a lovely spacious duplex apartment, well located and with all you need for a great holiday. Morning coffee's and evening glasses of wine were enjoyed on the upstairs terrace where the view over St.Paul's Bay is simply breathtaking. The property is a short walk from Bugibba Square where many evenings were spent wining and dining and soaking up the atmosphere.
I would thoroughly recommend the property for a family holiday. Any issues that presented were dealt with speedily and professionally. The owners also provided us with comfortable accomodation on our final day as we had a late flight. This was much appreciated....many thanks to Paul & Josanne for your hospitality.
