The Island of Malta region
The country is made up of three islands with Malta the largest and most popular, Gozo
second and the tiny island of Comino wedged in between its two larger neighbours.
In terms of history, Malta has plenty of it with 7,000-year-old temples
which out date the pyramids and Stonehenge. There are also numerous fortified cities around the island, a legacy of the country’s long association with the knights of St John.
Due to its geographical location at the heart of the Mediterranean, Malta has always been popular with the bigger European countries – a popularity that often involved people invading and occupying it.
Today, however, Malta is a totally independent country and fiercely proud of it. A member of the European Union, Malta’s economy is increasingly based on the service industry boasting, as it does, a fine pool of human resources. information Technology is playing an increasing role in the Maltese economy as are industries like language teaching and call centres.
In terms of climate, Malta is what you would describe as typically Mediterranean. Hot, Long sunny days make up more than half the year with a summer that lasts for anything up to six months. And winters aren’t exactly cold either with very little rainfall throughout the year.
The local currency is the Euro, which was introduced in January 2008 replacing the Maltese lira. The time zone is central European – in otherwords GMT+1 and the official languages are Maltese and English.
Malta is also a very religious country with the vast majority of inhabitants Roman Catholic. So no great surprise then that there are enough churches scattered around to allow you to visit one every day for a year without ever going to the same one twice. More than anything else though, Malta has one superb unique selling point – its people. You have to go a long way to find a more kind, warm and welcoming collection of individuals who have close ties with Great Britain.
St. Paul's Bay
St Paul`s Bay is an old fishing village with newer and more touristic areas of Bugibba and Qawra close by. These are full of Bars, fabulous local restaurants serving excellent local wine, night clubs, beaches and water sports outlets. Not to be missed are the one day cuises that depart from Bugibba, which take in all of Malta's highlights, which include caves, secluded sandy beaches and the most beautiful of all the Blue lagoon. Other palces of interest like Valletta, Mdina, Rabat, Dingli, Blue Grotto, Marsaxlokk fishing village and market.
The three cities -Isla, Bormla & birgu, Mosta dome,Paradise bay, Blue lagoon,Gozo, comino, Calypso's Cave, Ramla l hamra, Popeye's village, Ta Qali crafts centre, Ggantija temples with all the usual family orientated pursits like the splash and fun park etc. are all very close to the apartment and all within easy reach by bus ( bus terminus 5 mins walk), nowhere on the island is more than a 40 minute bus ride away!

"Fantastic apartment, beautiful views"
We stayed for one week with our 3 young children. The penthouse is fantastic - well furnished and equipped and spotlessly clean, everything we needed to feel at home during our holiday. The views from the huge terrace are beautiful and it is an ideal place to sit and relax. The street below is busy but you don't really notice it too much from the apartment itself. The resort itself has plenty of good restaurants etc and there are lovely beaches and places to visit within easy driving distance. We have really enjoyed our break and will definitely be holidaying in Malta again. Thank you Karen! :0)

Karen was helpful from the moment we enquired about the apartment to the moment we got home checking if everything was ok. She would reply straight away and answer any silly questions I had. The apartment was fantastic with modern furnishings and the best view ever! We would watch the sun go down every night. It is a central location with the beach/shops/restaurants within a 5 min walk. I would definately return!!

The penthouse is in the most perfect location, everything you would need for a great holiday all within walking distance. The penthouse was spotless and very well equipped with modern fittings and furniture , the outside space was extremely generous with views to die for, we watched the sun go down every night, it was mesmerising. Although only just returned we have booked again for next year, can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you Karen.
