Home description

Independent and restored house (finished end june) in an enclosed garden. This house of 70m sq. with a cute terrace and a small garden. A large living room /dining room leading to 2 bedrooms (one upstairs). One independent toilet and bathroom with shower. The house is newly well furnished... In the area there are many activities for adults and children. Bicycles can be hired in the village (400m) and there are lots of excellent restaurants within walking access.

The area is well served for all water and outdoor activities. Bordeaux is just over an hour and La Rochelle (the most visited city in France) 45mins. Beaches are safe and well supervised. Come have an experience "à la française".

The Poitou-Charentes / Vendee / Charente Maritime region

The Charente Maritime area of France is situated on the west coast between Nantes and Bordeaux. Charente Maritime nearly boasts as much sunshine as the French Riviera. The old harbour and the city of La Rochelle, the citadel of Brouage, Rochefort and its maritime heritage, Saintes and its Roman ruins, the pretty town of Talmont, near the Gironde estuary are but a few examples of the cultural wealth of the region.

How to get there

Airports Ryanair LA ROCHELLE (40 Km) or British Airways BORDEAUX (100 Km).

Train PARIS - LA ROCHELLE or PARIS - ANGOULEME - ROYAN (10 Km).

Ferry St MALO (6 hours) - CHERBOURG (7 hours) - CAEN ( 6 hours).

Car recommended but there are good bus links from SAINTES or ROYAN.

* Our changeover day is Saturday. Arrival is from 4pm and departure is by 10am. Changes possible only by prior arrangement

* Exclusions: no smoking in the villa.

A real find and we feel privileged to be one of your first guests - we will certainly recommend you.Our first visit to Cognac/Bordeaux which we wanted to experience - specially the "côte sauvage" A good time to visit Saintes , the colours are spectaculous!! (Eva ) July 2009..

We had a nice stay in St Palais - warm sea, nice sun and a lot of sleep... Cylcing tours are great and so easy around the village and along the seashore ( John and Sally) July 09
