This charming little seaside cottage is situated on the edge of the busy little seaside town of Saint Marc sur Mer which is famous for being the setting for the Jacques Tati film, Monsieur Hulot's Holiday. The property is in an excellent position for a beach holiday just cross the road to a beautiful sandy cove.

The house has been prettily restored, and
superbly furnished with many objets d'art from the 1930's, by the French
owner who lives next door.
Ground floor: Entrance hall to tastefully furnished living room. Kitchen with
gas cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. Next
to the kitchen there is a conservatory which serves as a dining room and has
a television, DVD and CD player. Single bedroom, shower room and WC.
First floor: Double bedroom (140cm) and twin bedroom. Shower room and WC.
There are glimpses of the sea from the upstairs rooms.
Outside: Small
enclosed garden to the front with spacious secluded terrace with BBQ and outdoor furniture. Parking.
Notes: Heating
45€ per week.. Compulsory end clean 40€. Linen & towel hire on rq: 15€ pp

The Languedoc-Roussillon / Pyrenees-Orientales region

The house is less than 1k from the village centre, with a very pleasant coastal walk, where there are good shops and excellent restaurants. There are a few beaches within walking distance: as well as the local beach which is accessible down some steps, the main beach at St Marc sur Mer is very good with a café and a restaurant overlooking it. La Baule is about 7k, with its famous crescent beach voted one of the best in the world The town is lively by day and by night offering all water sports, golf, polo, horse-riding, casinos and an excellent range of restaurants. There is plenty to visit in this part of Brittany without driving far: the walled town of Guérande, La Grande Brière (wildlife reserve), the port of Le Croisic, the salt marshes and fishing villages such as Piriac sur Mer.

“Great find” Received a very warm welcome with thoughtful touches e.g. wine, biscuits, dressing gowns. Owner next door but no interference. Wifi unexpected and a bonus with teenagers. House has been traditionally furnished which did cause some concern initially, especially when coming straight off beach but made sure showered down outside before entering. Very well equipped house. Location excellent - lovely beach across the road, with several others within working distance, village 10 minute stroll away with plenty of options for eating. Very few English tourists in this area predominantly French which we liked but meant little English spoken. Plenty to explore in the area if weather not great. All in all a brilliant holiday.
