Further details indoors:
Our detached guesthouse is ideal both for a romantic getaway for couples, a small family of three or for friends or siblings. It has been recently renovated in authentic Norman style with modern conveniences. Our village, was named after Mont St Michel by the ancient pilgrims who stayed in the church here en route there, as they could see the magnificent sanctuary rising from the bay in the distance. The viewing point with its old granite features is just opposite the church, and the village also features a granite museum depicting the ancient art of harvesting granite from the local area, much as it still is today. The quaint village shop, just 300 metres from your cottage is open until 8 pm most days, except Sundays, for morning croissants, baguettes, fresh fruits and vegetables, wine and cider.
Further details outdoors:
Our quaint cottage, a converted pressoir, features its own small private garden with parking barbeque, and garden furniture, bordered by a long drive, with large well-landscaped gardens which features two ponds, and a waterfall, with the main house just opposite.
Further details
We offer four sleeping options in the one bedroom cottage- a double bed sleeping arrangement (two single beds combined), or a double with one single bed, two single beds, or three single beds. Alternatively, a third person can use the sofabed in the lounge. We have used all of these options at various times, all very comfortably. The gite accommodates up to three individuals.
Conditions
We will consider reduced rates for longer lets or for short term breaks, and late bookings, please let us know your ideas.
Please note, that once you pay your first deposit, your dates are then reserved exclusively for you on the website. If you cancel your booking after paying your 25 per cent deposit, this is normally forfeited as it is then marked as unavailable to others, but of course we reconsider exceptional circumstances. After the 75 per cent is paid, this also is not normally refunded when you cancel as it would be too late for us to replace your reservation, but again, we again will consider exceptional circumstances.
We kindly ask guests to present their identification on arrival and we will have a short rental agreement for signing by both owners and renters to ensure the condition of our property offered reflects the website and on leaving the condition of the property is virtually the same
We have enjoyed several seasons with our holidaymakers with both new and returning guests and we very much strive to continue this good rapport.
We do ask for a 100 euro refundable damage deposit on arrival, and 25 per cent when you reserve.

I was delighted to find La Chardiniere after scouring the net to find the perfect place in the French countryside to write my thesis. I was after peace and quiet, beautiful views and some authentic Norman charm and La Chardiniere has that in spades. I have been here for 6 weeks and found that the gite is secluded enough to give me the peace and quiet to work with views of the cows grazing on the fields in the sunshine from my own private deck, yet close enough to local towns and villages for sociable breaks. The gite itself is situated in lovely grounds and I have been free to sit out and enjoy the sunshine in the gazebo overlooking the ponds. The local trails are perfect for walks, the occasional run and regular blackberry picking and there are plenty of interesting sights in the area to make a trip to St Michel de Montjoie and the environs a great break away in Normandy. My hosts have been extremely helpful in getting me settled and making sure I have everything I need. I thoroughly recommend the gite. 5 stars! Response: We really enjoyed having you with us, so pleased you found our peaceful setting a good environment in which both to escape and write and to and explore. We strive for a balance between tranquility and easy access to both the countryside and the renowned Normandie attractions. We hope to see you again soon. |

The gite has a lot of character and is set in the most beautiful gardens - a lovely atmosphere to stay in with a beautiful view over fields. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Response: It is pleasure to have such wonderful guests, who come from a wide variety of places to experience the rich landscape and history of Normandie. To date we have welcomed people from England, Wales, Canada, Spain, France, and the United States, and we look forward to meeting many more from around the globe. Thank you to all our guests for your kind comments. |

Set in rural France, in our hosts' beautiful garden with marvellous views, this gite is well appointed and very comfortable. Its a great place for exploring all that Normandy has to offer, such as the WWII landing beaches, museums, medieval castles and, of course, Mont St Michel. Thank you Karen and Robert for a lovely holiday, and we're certainly intending to come back. Response: It is rewarding to hear that our guests manage to take in such varied and exciting attractions during their stay with us. From the Bayeux Tapestry depicting the Norman conquest to the parachute adorned St Marie Eglise and magical Mont St Michel, the list offers something for all ages and interests. |
