About the home

Quietly located in the orchard at Vrigny this lovely cottage has been developed by us from the original barn. One romantic double bedroom on the mezzanine floor; the cottage is too small for children but a cot is available if required. The living room has a French window overlooking its own private patio, comfortable armchairs and table and chairs, TV and video, radio-cassette player. There is a well fitted kitchen with washing machine, fridge, electric oven and built in hob and microwave. Well fitted nice modern shower room and WC. Under floor heating. Garden furniture and BBQ.

The cottage is on two floors the upper bedroom floor is an attractive and romantic mezzanine i.e. it is on a half floor with balustrade looking over the sitting area which is open to the roof. The well fitted kitchen and shower room are beneath the bedroom. The sitting room has a large french window which opens onto the private sitting area outside.

The Barn is situated in the orchard of the large shared garden at Vrigny; it is quiet and secluded with its own sitting area. BBQ and loungers available.

Dates can be flexible we are not tied to arrival and departure days. Booking in advance ; normally a deposit of £100 a week with the balance paid six weeks before your holiday. Last minute bookings are available. We have several other cottages nearby so please ask if your dates aren't vacant..

The Loire Valley / Loir-et-Cher region

A year-round location, centrally located in the Loire Valley, the famous valley of the Kings; you will visit the beautiful and historic chateaux (Chenonceau, Amboise, Chambord, Villandry and many more). We are only 10 minutes drive from Chateau de Chenonceau. We are also in the heart of the wine region so if you are keen on wines this is your chance to visit the viticulteurs in Vouvray, Chinon, Bourgeuil. Saumur also we are only 2 hours drive from Sancerre. Local food is excellent.

The Saint Georges sur Cher area

The location is quiet, mostly farm traffic, the vineyards are a few steps away so lovely walks and cycle rides. You can walk along the River to Chenonceaux or shop in Montrichard, Tours or Amboise; there is a market every day so take your choice; local cafes and restaurants are excellent. Visit Tours and sit in the square at the historic Place Plumereau. Other attractions include river boats through the arches at Chenonceau or on the Loire at Amboise; the aquarium at Amboise, zoo at St Aignan

“Great Holiday in Vrigny” The Barn in Vrigny is excellent accommodation for a couple wanting a relaxing and comfortable getaway. We stayed for 11 nights in one of the best equipped and appointed holiday apartment we have used. Excellent value for money and in an ideal location to visit and explore the many attraction of the Touraine and greater Loire and Cher regions of France. Chateaux and wine tasting are just a few kilometres away as is a number of excellent restaurants and local markets in Amboise and Loches On arrival everything is spotlessly clean and if the linen package is an option you will find it clean and in good condition. The Barn has a washing machine and if needed there is a dryer available within the complex. For those interested there is bicycles available. Also hot air ballooning is an adventure to see the Touraine or Loire from the air. A car is essential and it is safe in an off road location overnight.

“Great unique accommodation for a couple visiting the Loire valley” An excellent modernisation of an old barn into well-equipped and characterful self-catering accommodation for a couple. On the edge of a quiet hamlet near the river Cher, nearest chateau being Chenonceaux. Secluded patio and large orchard for relaxing after a busy day sightseeing. (We had all our meals outside thanks to perfect weather!). All mod cons, but mezzanine bedroom with low ceiling means care needed for any toilet trips downstairs during the night. Local shops 1 km away, big supermarket 5 kms away. Car essential, though bikes provided and good walks all around. Efficient and personal booking arrangements worked perfectly.
