The West Wales / Pembrokeshire / Pembrokeshire region

South Pembrokeshire has the only National Coastal Park, in England and Wales, with 186 miles of coastline and coastal paths, coves and sandy beaches, with stunning views. It also includes a number of beaches with the EU Blue Flag Award for cleanliness.
The area is steeped in history, with several historic castles, including Pembroke Castle, the birthplace of Henry Tudor, who went on to become Henry VII, founder of the Tudor Dynasty. this castle was also besieged by Cromwell during the Civil War.
The village of St Florence has been a settlement since the 12th Century, and many of the houses in the village date back to the 18th century. It is a picturesque and quiet village, but only 3 miles from the seaside resort of Tenby.
The Saint Florence area
In addition to the historic places of interest to visit, such as Pembroke Castle, there is a wide range of activities for all the family. At the edge of the village of St Florence, there is Manor Wildlife Park, with opportunities to actually interact with animals like the wallabies and perhaps to meet the celebrity owner, Anna Ryder Richardson. Also just across the lane is Heatherton Sports Park, where you can try your hand at archery, target pistol or clay pigeon shooting, go-karting or many other activities.
About 5 miles way is Folly Farm Animal Park, with a wide range of animals to see and to feed.
Oakwood Amusement Park is 10 miles away and has all the activities and rides that you would expect in a major theme park.
There are boat rides out to the islands off the coast, to see and experience the wildlife, including seals, cormorants, choughs and the biggest gannet colony in this part of Europe.
The most important thing to remember about Pembrokeshire is that you can enjoy all of these activities, or just choose to relax and enjoy a peaceful walk along the many routes of the coastal path.
