A double opening in the massive stonewalls leads into the kitchen/dining area via two steps. The large garden and grounds (1.2 h) provide privacy and join onto a children's play ground with a mini-football field and a mountain bike track. The region is a cycling mecca with many dedicated paths, 1.5 hours from the sea and many chateaux, vineyards and 12th century sites to visit.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
France's premier vinegrowing area with many places of historic interest. The Entre Deux Mer region is France's top cycling destination with some 500 km of dedicated paths through the countryside on old railway lines and othe paths. (http://www.uk.tourisme-gironde.cg33.fr for all the activity in ENGLISH) Our property is 5 minutes from the Sauveterre-Bordeaux path and bicycles can be hired in Creon some 10 km away.
There are 2000 km of walking tracks and the Atlantic coast with its fabulous sandy beaches and shelted bay of Arcachon is 1.5 hours away.
The Saint Emilion area
A world heritage setting, St Emilion is 20 min from the property. One of the world's most famous wine location it is a charming medieval/rennaisance village with many summer/autumn music events. MAny other charming villages and bastides (founded by the English in the 14th century as fortified towns) are around with excellent fresh produce markets.
