La Vigne is directly next door to our bed and breakfast. We can be on hand to offer advice if you need it or just leave you to enjoy this beautifully peaceful location. The gite has 3 double bedrooms and a twin room,we also have a cot available. The house is fully equipped with everything you might need to enjoy a relaxing stress free holiday.

The property is set in 4 hectares of grounds and gardens we have numerous fruit and nut trees which guests are welcome to help themselves to. In the garden there is a covered outside lounge area for enjoying a good book or watching the sunset with a glass of local wine. There is a table tennis table and a set of swings.

The pool is shared with guest at our bed and breakfast but in reality this is usually only 2-4 people at the most and these guest stay for shorter periods and are out and about more. Therefore, La Vigne guests are the primary pool users, but at 16x14m it is large enough for everyone. The pool shelves gradually and is ideal for young children or non swimmers. It is alarmed. There is a small splash pool for tiny children. The Hot Tub is adults only.

For wheelchair users there is an adapted downstairs bedroom with an en-suite wet room, there is a wheel in shower chair. The main salon, dining and kitchen areas are also accessible but the kitchen does not have lowered worktops.

A 20% deposit is required for reserving. Final payment is 6 weeks before arrival.

This is vineyard country, mile upon mile of vines and wonderful wine! In addition to that there is a lot of history in this area. Montcaret our local village 1.5km has a Gallo-Roman museum with wonderful mosaics. The last battle of the Hundred Years War took place at Catillon la Bataille 8kms from here. They have weekend re-enactments in the summer, 500 actors take part and it ends with spectacular fireworks, a must!
The Saint Emilion area
Saint Emilion is a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its' wine. The town is beautifully preserved and one favourite trip is into the catacombs underneath the town.

We stayed in the wonderful little gite for a week in March and can't praise it enough. It's full of character with many of the original features lovingly restored. It's also spotlessly clean and well equipped. The owners, Sue and Cath were so kind and helpful and gave us such a warm welcome. The gite has a lovely outside area with bbq and lots of space to relax in the beautiful garden. The area is so peaceful with lots of lovely walks from the gite. We also got to sample the local wines which were delicious. We're already planning our next trip back. Thanks Sue and Cath. |

I enjoyed five weeks of Maison Arc en Ciel to write a theatre play. It was wonderful! The gite is cosy, clean and well equipped. The site is great as well: in the Bergerac vineyards, with great views. It's not too far from Montcaret where you will find a shop, newspapers and a nice bakery. However: my bread was brought to me every morning by my wonderful hosts Sue and Cath. They do very delicious cooking as well, with local products and local wine. I would recommend this beautiful place to everyone: It's the best of France combined with a lovely touch of English- and Irishness of Sue and Cath. You will find an authentic French gite, beautiful nature, swimming pool with view, good cooking, excellent service and professional hosts who look after your well being with just the right touch! |

We stayed here for two nights in July 2010, it was the most fantastic place, the rooms were lovely, that atmosphere was wonderful. Went wine tasting just up the road. We have been several times to this accomodation and returned each time because we knew that we could relax, enjoy the surroundings and be guaranteed of a very warm welcome. Our friends wanted to visit France but as he is in a wheelchair, finding suitable accomodation was not easy. We were aware that one of the rooms in the gite was being made wheelchair accessible and thus recommended that we all go together. We had a brilliant holiday - with Nick finding the local lanes to be suitable for excursions as well as St Foy, Bergerac and St Emilion. The table d'hote is thoroughly recommended.
