This former old stone barn has been beautifully restored to a high standard (4 **** classification by the Gironde Tourist Board). Exposed stone walls, terra cotta tiled floors and period furniture give this property its charm and warmth. An ideal setting to enjoy long walks, visits to wine growers or just laze in the garden or by the beautifully landscaped pool. (swimming possible Mid-may till mid october).Table tennis in the garden. Tennis courts in the village 2km.
Gourmet restaurants or local bistrots abound in the area : whatever your choice you will not be disappointed. Two golf courses await you just 25 minutes from the house. Canoeing on the Dordogne or riding in beautifully kept stables are a short ten-minute drive. The inumerable hiking trails in the area lead you through vineyards and woodlands, past castles and cottages with one or two trails that leave from the hamlet. Indoor pool and spa 5 minute drive.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Gironde region
This property is located in the north eastern area of the Gironde bordering the Dordogne. Hot summers and temperate winters characterise this region with summer weather starting mid-May. Grape harvest usually takes place from second half of September to early October usually under glorious blue skies.
Saint Emilion area
Our property is ideally situated for walking, sightseeing, wine tasting and simply enjoying the famous French way of life. The picturesque medieval village of St Emilion - registerd with UNESCO as World Heritage - ten minutes from the property has been renowned for its wines since the second century. Château Cheval Blanc, Château Ausone are among the most famous. A stone's throw away is the Pomerol region, home of Château Petrus. If you are game for an hour's drive you are in the Medoc and ready for visits to the renowned Château Margaux or Château Mouton Rothschild. Local tourist boards organise trips to various châteaux and courses in wine tasting are available in Saint Emilion.
A visit to Bordeaux is a must and has just been classified UNESCO World Heritage. The stately 18th century river front - on the Garonne river - is breathtaking.The inumerable winding streets are lined with charming 3 story buildings with lovely stone work and graceful wrought iron balconies giving this city all its charm. Quaint hidden squares, boutiques, restaurants abound and the Archeological museum is incredibly rich and informative about Bordeaux's Roman past.
Arcachon, the Pyla Dune and the splendid Atlantic beaches are an hour and fifteeen minutes drive with motorway most of the way.
If you wish to visit the Dordogne, Sarlat and the Lascaux caves are an hour and a half drive through lovely scenic countryside.
