Maison aux Vignes is the perfect holiday home for families, the well equipped house has everything you need to make your stay comfortable.
Sleeps 2 - 6 comfortably in 3 double bedrooms, in addition one of sofas in the main living area can be pulled out to become a double bed, to sleep an additional 2 people.
The main living area consist of an extendable dining table and sitting room with traditional fireplace and french doors into the garden.
Totally equipped kitchen including American fridge freezer with ice maker, washing machine, dish washer, etc.
Unlimited wifi available in the house.
The garden features a private swimming pool, 6m x 4m with roman steps at one end. The pool can be heated if required.
The grounds are fully enclosed, with a gated entrance to the driveway at the side of the cottage, and a stone bbq in the garden.
To the rear of the property are wonderful views over a vineyard valley, views enjoyed from the cottage, swimming pool and terrace and the garden.

Saint Emilion, the famous medieval city and wine region, is just a 10 mins drive away.
Libourne 15 mins drive.
Castillon La Bataille great Monday market & site of the last battle & annual re-enactment (August) of the hundred years war is also a 15 mins drive.
Ste Foy-la Grande famous bastide market town on the river Dordogne.

"Do not rent this property"

In order to look after our property and our guests, we employ a manager for the house and a gardener/pool man.
The house is thoroughly cleaned and inspected between every set of guests, whilst the garden and pool are sorted out every Saturday between departing and arriving guests (sometimes the day is changed if guests arrive on any other day of a week).
During the cleaning any cobwebs formed at that time are removed from all areas.
The property is in a rural setting and in the midst of an acre of mature garden with many fully grown trees. Some leaves and pine needles fall from trees throughout the year dependent on both nature and the weather, they are swept up by our gardener every time he visits the property but some will fall in between these times.
The decking area is set in the garden next to the pool and the shade offered by the trees.
As the property is rented out as a holiday home it is of course rented fully furnished by us.
The website has pictures of the property which clearly show the décor.
We do provide bikes for our guests to use and also should it be needed provide a puncture repair kit. All of them were checked and tyres pumped up the day prior to the guests arrival. Upon receiving advice that a tyre had a puncture and a pedal had fallen off another bike, our house manager advised that they would try to get them both fixed that day, as the guests stated it was imperative that they have 4 bikes for the following day. On inspection it was clear that the pedal had not just fallen off but that the bracket the pedal arm is attached to had in fact completely cracked and broken.
In order to ensure that the guests were not inconvenienced at all and that the planned bike ride could still go ahead our manager took 2 of her own personal bikes to the property for the guests to use the next day.
A new bracket has been ordered to replace the broken one, in the meantime the bikes belonging to our manager have been left at the property for our guests to use.
With regard to the deposit, as per our booking form, we have a 14 day period to advise guests of any problems or to return it in full. In this instance the cleaning took place 10 days after departure and the damage was advised by email the following day.
In order to clean underneath the vanity stool it was moved and the damage was immediately apparent. The wooden base had been broken in half but due to the padded seat and material on top it was possible to prop the stool up to look like it was in perfect condition.
We do allow for normal wear and tear in the property and with the furnishings but neither breaking a stool in half nor breaking a 2 year old bike can be classed as general wear and tear.
The fact that the stool had been propped up to hide the damage clearly shows that it was trying to be hidden and hoped that it would go unnoticed - this would have been very dangerous for any future guests that may have had the misfortune of trying to sit on the stool and it was fortunate for us that the damage was immediately noticed.
The final email received from these guests stated:
"It's a shame, as we had a wonderful time in St Emilion and your house,this situation has now tarnished it for me"
We try our utmost to assist guests wherever possible, as evidenced by our manager taking her own bikes to the guests, but have had no choice but to withhold the 100 gbp deposit in this instance against the damage sustained to both the bike and the vanity stool.

Prior to their stay all guests are informed by mail that in order to allow for any delays en route to the property the keys are kept in a secure coded box. This means that guests can arrive at a time suitable to them.
This booking was made for 8 adults, requesting the use of 2x double beds, 2x single beds and then 2x double bed settees - one in the lounge and one in the sunroom. On inspection it was deemed that the one in the sunroom was not in fact in a suitable enough condition for us to allow its use and was immediately removed from our webpage and advice was given to these guests. This did however mean there were still enough beds to sleep 8, the lounge bed settee was always going to be used by these guests and it can of course be put back as use of a normal settee during the daytime.
Both of the toilets were in full working order when the house was cleaned and checked the day prior to arrival.
Immediately on receiving advice in the evening that there was a problem a plumber was booked for the following morning - unbeknown to us at the time he neither turned up nor advised anyone he was unable to, so another plumber was called who arrived at 0900 the next day and immediately sorted out the toilet. The shower handle had been broken by a previous guest and the plumber could not get a new one immediately but it has since been replaced. In the meantime we contacted our neighbour who offered an immediate solution of using the grips - not an ideal situation but at least it meant the second shower could also be used until the handle could be replaced properly.
Our pool is cleaned every Saturday and was done so both prior to and during their stay.
The heating for both the house and the pool are clearly stated as extras on the booking form completed by all guests.
The charges for bedding and towels are also stated on the booking form and original quote emails sent to all customers, there have not been any other complaints about the linens supplied.
The house and bbq are cleaned thoroughly after every guest and we have never received any complaints before.
In this case the damage/tidy deposit was retained as the house heating was used during their stay and not paid for, despite an email being sent to the guests prior to their arrival advising them of the temperatures both during the day and the evening and asking if they would require the heating to be put on for them.
Aside from the use of heating other damages were caused including breaking the marble top on a table, making a hole in a floor tile, breaking a plate, removing and taking all of the hygienically sealed bags from the cleaned winter duvets in the cupboards, leaving dirty crockery in the kitchen and the house in a completely filthy condition.
Guests are advised by mail that the damage/tidy deposit will be retained to pay for any damages caused, in this case the deposit does not even begin to cover the costs incurred.
