The medieval villages of Sarlat, Beynac, Les Eyzies, Limeul, Beynac, Domme, St Cyprien are all just a short distance away.

The property is elevated and south-facing, providing picturesque views over the Dordogne valley. You will not be sharing the house, pool or grounds with anybody else.

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region

The Perigord is famous for its cuisine and there are plenty of restaurants close by that serve both regional dishes and international cuisine at reasonable prices complemented by fine regional wines.

Beynac village (10 mins), with its narrow cobble streets that lead up to the formidable 11th C Chateau Beynac which dominates the valley

Domme (20 mins) a remarkable medieval bastide, perched on the edge of a cliff with its panoramic views over the valley. The gated towers in the city walls were used by the Knight Templars as prisons.

Les Ezyies (15 mins) which is known as the world capital of prehistory. Over 100 prehistoric sites are present in the area including Le Roque Saint Christophe containing a network of caves that once sheltered over 3000 people. Visit the world famous National Museum of Pre-History.

Sarlat is a must. Considered to be one of the finest restored medieval market towns in Europe

The pretty village of Limeul (10 mins) is located at the confluence of the Dordogne & Vezere rivers . Ideal to take a picnic lunch beside the river or laze away the afternoon in a cafe

The picture-postcard-perfect village of Roque-de-Gagneac is 20 minutes and is the starting point for boat and canoe trips

For wine-buffs take a day to explore the prestigious appellations such as Pecharmant, St Emilon, Monbazillac. Visit the Maison des Vins? in Bergerac where tastings are free

Other activities include golf, tennis, canoeing, walking (an excellent walking track starts at your doorstep)

Saint Cyprien area

A leisurely 10 minute stroll takes you to the village centre to the boulangerie for your daily baguettes and other basic supplies. The friendly English speaking owners of the local wineshop will advise and supply you all your wine needs. A bar-tabac, Post Office, and Hotel-bar are also in the village.

Select some local fresh produce at one of local markets of Siroac (3km) on Wednesday, Belves (6km) on Saturday or St Cyprien (5km) on Sunday. Otherwise for a comprehensive range of supplies a supermarket is open 7 days at Siorac-en-Perigord just a few minutes drive away
