In the heart of the countryside, 3 km from Saint-Cyprien and 15 km from Sarlat, Bagnegrole is a 17th century coaching inn, comprising a central manor house and several buildings, which have all been beautifully restored in the spirit of the local architecture.
Bagnegrole, with its 10 hectar park, horses, gardens and woods is the ideal place to relax beside the shared swimming pool in between visiting the many historical tourist spots of the Périgord Noir.
La Petite Forge is one of the 3 cottages of the Bagnegrole property (see complete description hereafter).

The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Dordogne region
The Dordogne, or the Périgord as it is known by the French, is one of the most beautiful regions in France. The Périgord Noir, which derives its name from the black truffles found here and its walnuts, is to be found in the triangle of Sarlat, Domme and Les Eyzies, cut through by the Dordogne and Vézère rivers. The Périgord Noir is a stunning mixture of prehistoric caves hidden in tree-covered valleys and medieval castles dating from the 100 years war. You cannot fail to be impressed by the number and variety of castles that there are to visit, as well as the multitude of cavemen dwellings and underground sites.
Saint Cyprien area
The small market town of St Cyprien is an ideal base for your vacation in the Périgord Noir. Traditional shops line the main street, while centuries-old houses cling to the hill, which leads up to the impressive church and abbey. The Sunday market is very popular and you can stock up on necessities at the town’s supermarket, Champion. St Cyprien lies close to the Dordogne river, so canoeing bases are nearby, as are the historic sites of Beynac, Les Eyzies, Castelnaud, La Roque-Gageac and Sarlat. You can also enjoy golf, horse-riding and “acro-branche’ – a sort of Tarzan activity, swinging through the trees – within a few kilometres.

Access by air (www.ryanair.com) - direct flight from London to Bergerac + Bergerac to Saint-Cyprien = 35 miles
Access by motorway - Paris to Saint-Cyprien = 330 miles of which 300 by motorway (journey time approx. 5.30 hours)
Access by rail (www.sncf.com) - Paris TGV to Libourne = 4h + 1h30 car journey - Paris to Souillac = 4h + 1h car journey
