We are on the edge of the Bergerac vineyards and not far from the Bordeaux and Duras wine regions. Most of the local vineyards offer wine tasting on site. The attractions of the Dordogne, it's river, villages and famous caves are easily accessible.

"perfect place for a quiet getaway"

We arrived after a 6 hour drive to a very warm welcome from Geraldine. She quickly showed us around and left us to unpack enough to enjoy the fabulous pool! There was a very welcome baguette, cheese and wine put out for us, which was simply perfect after a long hot day.
The kitchen area is really well equipped and you definitely have nothing missing, as we would know, as we cooked every evening! 3 large double bedrooms with plenty of storage space, as well as a TV/DVD in each room. We slept well although the attic room did get a bit warm, but there were plenty of fans provided! Also a phone which you could ring England for free and really good WiFi!!! What more could you ask!
The living area is spacious and cool and has plenty of seating for larger groups.
Outside is simply perfect, having a lovely patio area, a bar area equipped with another fridge and the most wonderful pool set in a very large private field. There are steps to the patio with no hand rail, and there is a slope to get to the pool, so it may not be suitable for anyone elderly or with limited mobility. However for anyone else it offers a large area for play with table tennis and table football available, plenty of bats and balls as well. There are numerous tables and chairs and sunbeds, so everyone should be happy.
A car is essential here as you are definitely miles from nowhere, but there are plenty of pretty villages in the vicinity as well as Bergerac which is about 30 mins away.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and would like to thank Geraldine for her friendliness and care during our visit..

"Secluded with great facilities"

Geraldine the owner was welcoming and left us a welcome basket of provisions which was a very nice touch.

The house has a large secluded garden with a good swimming pool about 5 feet deep over its entire length which was ideal for us. It isn't fenced so may be a concern for families with small children.

Internally the house is beautifully restored and extremely well equipped from appliances to books DVDs and Satellite TV (should that be required). A decent fast WiFi was an unexpected benefit.

Our party had two cars and we were able to park both off road. A car is required to get to the supermarket, but it would be possible to take one of the bikes provided to Lauzun for bread and emergency provisions.

During our stay there were some wonderful clear nights to see the stars from around the pool and even some glow worms.

All in all we had a great time.

"The best gite rental we have ever had!"

This was a great experience in every respect. The sun shone every day, and the pool/garden areas, were so inviting, that we hardly wanted to go anywhere else. Very peaceful, and beautifully presented property, in a delightful rural setting. We could not have asked for more.

"Stunning Holiday Home"

Six of us spent a week at the Gite which was wonderful. A real home from home experience with everything provided. The owners gave us a warm welcome and were always there to help with any further needs or requirements. The accommodation is decorated to a very high standards and had little extras that made it special. The welcome basket was fantastic- enough to see us through until we got to shops and markets. We wanted for nothing. A car is recommemded to get around to all the local beautiful Markets. Also there are lots of good restaurants within 10 to 15 mins drive. Having a favorite drink on the terrace in the evening watching wildlife was a treat. Sharing the pool with owners was not a problem for us. We mostly had it to ourselves. There is a local bar in village and if you are fit you can walk up there in 15 mins. We tended to use the car. It is a beautiful area and a great place to stay. We all certainly plan to return again.
