A beautifull fully equipped 5 bedroom property in the spectacular medieval village of St Cirq Lapopie. On a cliff overlooking the magnificent Lot river, lies the lively, medieval village of St. Cirq Lapopie, a place Richard the Lion-Heart once failed to conquer.

Between 13th Century walls, in the heart of this charming village that time has left untarnished, stands Coeur de Lion a newly renovated, five-bedroom, four bathroom home. As you stroll through St Cirq Lapopie's medieval gate and gaze at the ancient red-roofed village houses, many garlanded with flowers, you'll imagine that time has stood still. But once past the old oak-door entrance of the house, you'll find all the essentials of contemporary living, from the appliance-stocked gourmet kitchen, to the generous king-size beds and the vintage porcelain tubs.

Spacious enough for large families, and groups, the house was designed to make even a single couple feel cozy and welcome.

Designated an historic site and “the most beautiful village” in France, St. Cirq Lapopie has been a mecca for artists and writers throughout the past century. A safe, friendly, explorable village, it is alive with small shops and fine restaurants, art studios, a museum, a cathedral, lovely walks, and views at every turn. There's a sandy beach too on the banks of the Lot river beneath the village!

With lots of light and wonderful views from its many windows, this beautiful stone house, with its red terracotta roof, was built in the 13th Century, but recently fully renovated (you can see the quality of the work at ivandejongdesign.com). It has all the conveniences of a modern home yet retains the charm of its ancient history.

A tall glass arch offers day-long southern exposure, and its entry door, fashioned from an oak wine vat found on the property, delivers you into the open-style main floor, with its gourmet kitchen, dining area, and living room.

The house contains all the typical modern amenities; dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, internet, telephone, DVD player, and a kitchen fully stocked with pots, pans, and the other necessities for gourmet cooking and fine dining.

There is a lovely fireplace that warms the house on cool Spring mornings or cool Fall evenings, or anytime one wants the crackle and radiance of a real fire. And there is a library of good books, DVDs, and stacks of games to play.

There are five bedrooms in the house, with a flexible combination of king beds, double beds, and twins. On the first floor, there is also a separate study, a place to read or to watch a DVD movie on television, leaving the living room free for other activities.

Windows bring in warm light to each of the rooms, some with views across the valley or towards the ancient cathedral that crowns St. Cirq Lapopie.

There are several full bathrooms, a half bathroom, and two vintage porcelain tubs for easy luxuriating after a day of sight-seeing, one bathtub situated to provide private, expansive views through the master bedroom window.

Whether your prefer lazing or action, window gazing or window shopping, dining out or cooking in, day trips or just a stroll to the corner, there is no end of enticing choices to be enjoyed from “Cœur Du Lion”.

"Enchanted castle in a magical village."

This was my third time staying in this wonderful village. The newly renovated Cours de Lyon was my first choice as it was highly recommended by friends and rental owners in the area. It was spectacula… More
