L'Orée du Bois is a charming 4-bedroom Provencal villa providing spacious and comfortable accommodation with the added benefit of air conditioning.

Outside, the large mature grounds boast a good size private infinity pool and welcoming shade provided by oak, pine, olive and lime trees

The property is situated in a peaceful location on the edge of woodland, between Grasse and Fayence, and just 35 km north west of Cannes and the Mediterranean. Local shops are a short drive away (2 km).

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region

The Cote d'Azur stretches along the warmest coastline of France from Provence to the Italian border.
The beaches from pebble to fine sand are well maintained and some 'private' offer extra facilities, bars and restaurants for a whole days comfortable seaside lounging! Gastronomy is at its best catering for some of the most prestigious clients but offering many choices of restaurant all along the coast.

The bustling cities of Cannes and Nice contrast to the small and still authentic perched villages on the hilltops, and other smaller towns offer quiet corners with dotted villas and yet still most interesting town centres alive with artistic history and tradition.

Further north the terraced hillsides lead up into cooler parts and the Alps can be seen towering above. Hiking and walking as well as many water sports on the lakes will be amongst activities here away from the busier coasts.

The Saint Cezaire-sur-Siagne area

St Cézaire is a pretty picturesque provencal village perched on the hillside, inland from Grasse, and surrounded by olive groves.
St Cassien lake is nearby (15 km) and the Mediterranean sea (Cannes) is only 35 km away.

PLACES TO VISIT:
Grasse. 15 km. Fascinating historic town and world's perfume capital. Explore the delightful narrow streets or go on one of the factory tours offered by some of the most famous perfume houses.
St Cassien lake. 15 km. Beautiful lake with clean water and small beaches, and lovely place for windsurfing and other watersports. Ideal to cool off on a hot day!
Fayence. 25 km. Much visited hill top fortified village, between sea and mountains and surrounded by picturesque Provencal countryside. Also renowned for its gliding centre, often considered the best in Europe.
Cannes. 35 km. Beachside resort with its large promenade, chic boutiques, restaurants, bars, shops and festivals including the famous Cannes film festival in May each year. A walk along the “Croisette”, harbour and sandy beaches is a must.

THINGS TO DO:
Les Grottes de St Cézaire, St Cézaire sur Siagne. 2 km. Discovered in 1890 by local farmer whilst working his land. Full of fantastic formations including draperies, stalactites and stalagmites. Spectacular underground landscapes.
Golf du Claux Amic, Grasse. 13 km. Golf course. 18 holes Par 72 - 5916m. With spectacular views of both the Mediterranean sea and the mountains, this course demands concentration and precise shots. The old oak trees provide some shade and ensure relief from the hot summer sun.
Marineland, Antibes. 35 km. Aquarium. The greatest marine show in Europe with dolphins, orcas, killer whales and seals. Also aquariums and a 30m-long tunnel surrounded by sharks!
Canyon Forest, Villeneuve Loubet. 35 km. Tree top adventure park/Canyoning. Acrobatic adventure park for the young (8 yrs old+) and not so young. Discover at your own pace the 4 trails on offer after an enjoyable 10mn bike ride along a river. Going from tree to tree, balance yourself through an assortment of games such as rope bridges, tarzan swings and giant zip lines, including for the bravest, the longest zip line in France (331m) where you can expect to reach a maximum speed of 70 km/h! Canyoning also available. For the little ones, Pitchoun Forest is a more accessible course for children aged 3 to 10. Larger, more secure and more amusing with an easier access.

Tourrettes sur Loup. 35 km. Charming hill top medieval village known as the Violet village and surrounded by superb landscapes. Well worth a detour.
Antibes-Juan les Pins. 35 km. Two towns in one! Antibes with its vibrant historic centre with narrow winding streets, a good choice of restaurants, cafés, theatres, piano bars, chic hotels, private clubs and Picasso museum, and Juan les Pins renowned for its gorgeous beaches, exciting nightlife with fashionable night clubs, casino and even night shopping. Also Cap d'Antibes, a small piece of paradise, home to a number of millionaires.
St Paul de Vence. 40 km. One of the most beautiful and most visited villages in France which has attracted many artists due to its great natural beauty. Also home to Fondation Maeght, France’s most important modern art museum with a remarkable collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings and other graphic works from the 20th century.
Nice. 55 km. Fashionable and unmissable seaside resort with its wonderful “Promenade des Anglais”, a long boulevard along the seaside dotted with palm trees, its old town with pretty colourful architecture and narrow streets. Take a stroll along the flower market in the “Cours Saleya”, restaurants serving Mediterranean and sea food and bars. Nice is cool in winter and hot in summer!!!
