Downstairs is divided into a cosy lounge with plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs, wood flooring, traditional style furniture, wide open fireplace, and pretty curtains; and separate open plan kitchen/dining area.
The dining area in the lounge includes a large oak dining table and oak chairs, with views over the front garden at the back of the cottage. The kitchen is open plan in style, fashioned with timbers rescued from the house and an original stone sink, incorporating modern conveniences - fridge - freezer, gas cooker with oven and grill, dishwasher and microwave. Open stonework, and cream washed stone/rendered walls complete the rustic feel to the room.
Large French windows provide an entrance way to the cottage, which opens onto your private gravel courtyard, with separate outdoor seating for Camellia. This then leads through a conifer hedge to the old orchard, separate fenced pool area, and the rest of the garden.
The stairs lead up to the first floor from the dining area, where you will find the bedrooms all decorated in pretty summer colours, country cottage style and flair! All three bedrooms have exposed feature granite walls or rendered cream washed stone walls, and are furnished with ample furniture to provide you with comfort and storage.
The top floor master suite, looks out onto the fields to the north & courtyard to the south, with large double bed, and ensuite shower room. There are three further comfortable double bedrooms, one with twin beds, one with bunk beds. The spacious bathroom includes a bath plus shower attachment, toilet and full sized basin. We are centrally located in the Baie of Le Mont St Michel, with a view of the mont from the north side of our village, with easy access to St Malo Dinard and Dinan, as well as the Mont its self (10km). We are on a hill that then sweeps down to the Polders, take a bike trip or long walk to the Mont through the fields of leeks, carrots, salad and onions.
The tranquil surrounding boasts rambling and cyclable tracks, with three marked rambling trails including a cycle track through the extensive woodland. Tree sports (acrobranches) 6km, fishing (lake, sea and river), beaches at 20mins.
Enjoy shopping for delicious local specialities (and basic provisions!) a short (5 minutes) drive away in Pleine Fougères with a good butchers, pharmacy, banks, petrol statation, several bars and a creperie Les Polders. Small Market on a Tuesday which includes our local cheese farm; Intermarche super market is also a handy 5 mins by car for all your essentials - open Sunday morning in the summer. Pontorson has a very traditional open air market each Wednesday morning, many recommended restaurants and seafood shops, and a Carrefour supermarket (part of the large chain, lots of French goodies to buy here!). There are also several good "traiteurs" (delicatessens), and bars including a piano bar. Pontorson also provides a gateway for visits to the famous Le-Mont-St-Michel, and a large tourist office with internet facilities.
In the other direction visit the delightful summer gardens at Baguer Pican - La Cormaille.
Dol De Bretagne (a 15 minute drive west) is a very pretty market and cathedral town with half timbered houses, great "galette" (a traditional buckwheat savoury pancake) and gastronomic restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. The cathedral dominates the view down to the coast, and has a "Cathédraloscope" exhibition for those interested in the history surrounding the cathedral. The shops are again superb, with a fantastic bakery "le Pain Doré", two beauticians, "traiteurs" and clothes shops, just a few of the many on offer. The Saturday morning market attracts many shoppers, offering all types of French produce, including cider, delicious local cheeses, organic vegetables, garlic and herbs, plus a wide range of clothes, knickknacks, pots and pans and souvenirs

The Brittany region
Our region is coastal but very agricultural as well, so green and charming with rolling hills and valleys. The cottage is on the lee side of a gentle hill, washed in the afternoon by the sea breeze off the polders.
The baie of Le Mont Michel is beautiful and unspoilt, with no high rise blocks, and traditional fishing cottages lining the coastal road to Cancale. The Mont is a world heritage site, which you can only really appreciate getting close up, and then climbing up to the top to the cloisters - a magnificent view awaits you!
Rennes is the capital city of Brittany, with lots to see and do, from the science museum and planetariuml, to the park Thabor, the parliament and great shops and supermarkets (Leclerc at Cleunay is our favourite, but beware the choice of produce is a little over whelming - a great place to go for a really wide choice of wines and spirits).
Dominated by the fishing and agricultural industries, the region is very green and the wide open skies over the sea tempt you to the coast.
We are in a rural location, yet very close to all the wonderful beaches, and coastal towns - many clients go off and explore in the morning, spend the rest of the day at the beach and then come back to the cottages for a last dip in the pool, before getting the kids to bed and enjoying a cool glass of wine. With our pizza service you don't even need to cook!
We love all the beaches along the coast - even the salt flats offer great walking and activities - sand yachting or sand paragliding.
The anse de Guesclin is a wide open sandy beach with gentle waters, and angled towards St Malo. A small island with a house on it completes the romantic view! Les vergers is just up the road, with rock pools and a small snack bar as well as toilets. Further along the coast you have St Malo with the huge plage du Sillon, just one of the many on offer. St Malo also boasts a myriad of restaurants with all levels of budget and taste, from pizzas and pancakes to gourmet platters of seafood.
If you like oysters then a trip to Cancale and Vivier are a must - you can buy fresh mussels and oysters from the roadside, and the seafood at St Malo indoor market (Rocabey) is stunning - with langoustines and all kinds of fresh fish piled high.
For history lovers take a trip to Dol de Bretagne and Dinan - Dinan port is also charming, here there are good restaurants and you can take a boat trip on the Rance estuary.
Dinard is very chic, with lovely boutiques and a Casino - the sand is golden and fine, the favourite beach for many clients. A little bit further up the coast you have St Enogat and St Briac beaches (featured in Mary Wesley's a sensible life), and then onwards towards St Briac there is St Lunaire.
In land you have forests and lakes....and ideal roads for cycling, Trans La Foret also has a tree adventure park, boating lake and some very good kids climbing frames and swings - make a day of it and take a picnic or eat in the lakeside snack bar.
