La Maison Rose is located in the heart of the beautiful and unspoilt Drome valley, on the outskirts of a prospering village. Quiet and peaceful, the house is extremely spacious and well equipped and is a stone's throw from the village centre, with a busy Sunday market, and many excellent restaurants for eating out.
The house benefits from its own large private pool, with steps and a shallow end perfect for children. There are large, well furnished terraces with stunning views, a barbeque area and a superbly equipped kitchen enabling al fresco dining. With five comfortable ensuite bedrooms and large secure gardens, the house is ideal for groups with children, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

The house is available on a self catered basis by the week, and offers over 300 square metres of living space, plus large terraces and pool set in a secure garden of nearly 6000 square metres (1.5 acres), with walnut, fruit and olive trees, lawns, flower borders and vegetable garden.
Downstairs, the enormous "L" shaped sitting room of 90m², with four sofas and several armchairs has a well-stocked (English) library, board games, maps and local guides, wifi access, satellite TV. There is a dining area seating up to fourteen.
There is a second dining room or second sitting room with doors leading to the terraces, pool and garden.
The large, fully equipped kitchen has Smeg and Lacanche range cookers, American fridge/freezer and microwave. The utility room has two dishwashers, washing machine, tumble dryer and extra fridges.
There are large south facing terraces with awnings. Teak tables to seat up to 14 people in comfort. Barbecue facilities available.
Upstairs are five spacious ensuite bedrooms sleeping up to 12 people.

The large pool is fenced and secure, with steps at the shallow end which is one metre deep, and the deep is end is two metres deep. The rear garden is fenced and secure.

Conditions
Strictly no smoking except outside. We ask for a refundable damage deposit of £500 before arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
We ask for a non refundable payment of 25% of the rental fee to secure your booking, the balance is payable six weeks before your arrival.
The Rhone / French Alps / Drome region
Around La Maison Rose, you will discover a region of exceptional beauty and variety. The charming and gentle inhabitants who still live a simple life bear witness to the quality of our unspoilt region.
The region is renowned for it's walking and cycling possibilities. There are thousands of kilometres of marked trails for mountain bikers. The Tour de France often passes nearby in July, and there are some excellent road cycling circuits stretching south to Mont Ventoux and north towards the Alps.
There are village markets every day of the week somewhere in the Drome valley, and flea markets and antiques fairs in summer.
The Saillans area
There are festivals, concerts, firework displays and many other activities throughout the summer in and around Saillans.
The walking possibilities are almost endless. Our location at the southern end of the Vercors National Park provides access to some of the most dramatic scenery in France. There are marked trails in all directions, and local guides are available for hire.
Canoeing down the river Drome is a marvellous way to spend a day; there are several hire companies operating locally. Rock climbing, parapenting, horseriding and many other organised outdoor activities also take place here. Bike hire can be arranged locally, and guided tours are also available.

By air, Lyon, Marseille, Avignon and Nimes airports are less than two hours drive by car. Easyjet, Ryanair, Flybe operate from these airports. The TGV train from the UK via Lille arrives in Valence, a forty minute drive away. International flights to Paris Charles de Gaulle connect easily with the TGV to Valence. By car, we are 1000km from the English Channel, and slightly more from Belgium and Holland. The drive can be done in a day or we can recommend an excellent stopover half way.
