Mas de Gardou is a classic French farmhouse in a peaceful little hamlet. It has the perfect combination of being rural, and away from any hustle and bustle, yet is less than 10 minutes drive from all the facilities you'd need. Large gardens surround the house, with different parts of the gardens offering different options. Relax by the pool, surrounded by lavander, with plenty of loungers and a hammock. There is also a large eating area by the pool, with a 12 foot stone table to accomodate a large group.
Play boules on our newly installed boules court. Relax in another hammock in the shade of the trees, while watching the kids bounce on the trampoline. Or take a breather under the shade of the terrace, on the comfy sofas. The house itself has every comfort. 4 very large double bedrooms, 1 with 2 doubles for kids to share. A bathroom with a large bath and separate shower, and a further separate toilet and shower room on the top floor. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the living room has comfy sofas, an impressive wood burning stove, and UK satellite TV. The house also has Wifi.

About this location
The Midi-Pyrénées region
Tarn-et-Garonne lies in the south west of France amid sun-drenched, rolling hills dotted with vineyards and dramatic river gorges eroded from the rock by the ceaseless flow of rivers; rivers that sparkle serenely in the sunlight as they cascade through the landscape.
The department is one of the smallest in France in terms of population, and, compared to the other areas of the Midi-Pyrénées, of which it is a part, Tarn-et-Garonne is a sparsely-populated rural area, where traditional agriculture and natural beauty make way only for beautiful towns brimming with historic architecture and quaint hillside villages.
Gardou is a tiny hamlet outside Saillagol (also tiny!). This is a sleepy part of South West France, away from all the hustle and bustle. Caylus is the closest village with a supermarket, pharmacy, bakers, butchers, a couple of bars, and a couple of restaurants - Caylus is a 10 minute drive.
Villefranche de Rouergue is about a 30 minute drive and is the main town with Hypermarches, department stores etc. There are great markets in the area at Caylus, Saint-Antonin (20 mins), Villefranche, and Limogne (15 mins).

"A lovely base from which to explore the Lot Valley, and beyond."
This is a lovely house to use as a base for exploring the area. All our needs were catered for at the property - the solar-heated pool was lovely - still just warm enough to use in mid-september. The house is large (some of the bedrooms are huge) with a bathroom on the two upper floors. It is in a tiny hamlet with "essentials" shops about 10 minutes away by car. The outside seating area is lovely and comfortable (even when raining!) and ideal for relaxing with a glass of local wine in the evening. The kitchen table is large as is the outside table, and the lounge is comfortable. There is a gas BBQ outside and there is even a scrabble set which wiled away a few hours in the evenings!. Dave and Bev, the housekeepers were very friendly too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back.

"Beautiful home in outstanding location"
The farmhouse is tastefully decorated and wants for nothing. We had an amazing week touring the various rivers, caves, markets and hill top villages. The Caylus area is culturally interesting and feels unspoilt. Sitting by the pool was heavenly...

Mas de Gardou is a wonderful house in a peaceful location. The house has four very large bedrooms and plenty of living space. Each room is tastefully decorated and we received a warm welcome with fruit and wine. The house is well equipped so all you need to take are swimming costumes and casual clothes. The garden has lots of areas to eat outdoors and there is a good sized swimming pool, boule court and trampoline. There are lots of local activities such as markets, kayaking and horse riding. We feel very relaxed after a week at Mas de Gardou and will definitely book again.
Thank you for your kind review Adam - we'd love to welcome you back to Mas de Gardou in the future.

"Beautiful and relaxing holiday home"
Mas de Gardou is a lovely house with a great garden, very comfortable and beautifully furnished. There's plenty of room both inside and out for a large group. The kitchen is well equipped and the barbecue/dining area on the terrace is lovely. The pool area is a great size and a very relaxing place to spend long hours in the sunshine. All in all an idyllic place for the perfect French holiday. 10/10!
Thanks for your kind review Jackie. I'm delighted you had an enjoyable holiday. Regards, Roddy

"The thoughtful extras make this holiday home very special"
This holiday home is extremely well-equipped. Standard items are of a really high quality - the kitchen, the comfy sofas that really are comfy, the bathrooms, the barbeque - but it is the little extras that make it so special. We have three boys aged between 8 and 18 and found something to satisfy each of them - colouring pens and paper, a trampoline, two hammocks, bikes, sports equipment, wifi, a full Sky package, a boules courts for those competitive moments. I could go on! For us, the little details also made a huge difference - complimentary wine and fruit, tasteful decor, a basket for our shopping, a really good selection of books and the peaceful places to sit and relax. The owner was extremely helpful and had left a thorough guide to the house ahd area.
It is a tranquill location with lots of lovely places to visit nearby. My youngest son described it as "heavenly" and did not want to come home.
