Enquire nowThe Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
With over 300 days of blue skies, the region is heaven for those wishing to escape the grey! The main activity is wine-making (vines were planted here in Roman times) as we are in the heart of the Côtes-du-Rhône. The pace of life is slow and easy with fantastic produce available in the wonderful food markets, great restaurants and long relaxed lunches! There are historic sites and lots of museums to visit, as well as landmarks such as the Mont Ventoux, mythical climb of the Tour de France, and the famous lavender fields of Sault.
The Sablet area
There are events throughout the year, from jazz nights in the local wineries, with trestle tables set up for dinner, to the international book festival, concerts in the vines, food and wine walks, and village festivals. The nearest town of Vaison la Romaine has a Provençal street market every Tuesday, lots of interesting shops and cafés, as well as a Roman theatre where concerts are held in the open air.
