Chalet Alte Bachmuhle is one of the prettiest old style Chalets in the village, retaining most of the original Austrian Charm. This newly modernised luxury apartment has 2 bedrooms and can sleep upto 6 people. A spacious open plan living /dining kitchen area,n well equipped Kiitchen, Shower room. Large south facing balcony with magnificent views. Located in the pretty alpine village of Viehhofen at the edge of the popular ski areas of Saalbach/Hinterglemm, known as "Ski Circus" region. There is over 200 km of skiing close by as well as a further 200km at Zell-am-see and the Kaprun Glacier aprox 10 km away. This is an ideal location for skiers of all levels and offers a large variety of skiing for the beginner and advanced skier. The Nursery slope and ski school meeting place are just 100m away from the apartment. You can ski back to the Viehhofen village on a gentle long blue run which joins in with the Nursery slope & Apres Ski bar at the bottom. Five min bus ride to the first major lift system at Vorderglemm, bus stop 50m from the apartment. The well established Viehhofen ski school caters for adults and children from 3 yrs old (or out of nappies) and offers kindergarten facilities all day for young children. The village offers a variety of bars & restaurants, a well-stocked supermarket, Tourist Office, Bank/24 hr ATM. This area has access to some of the most exciting skiing and extreme sports in Austria, Winter and Summer.

Apartment is located on the 1st floor, you enter at ground level as the chalet is built into the hillside. There are just 3 steps to access the apartment, no hassle of lifts and steep stairs. The living accommodation is spacious and open plan and on one level. 2 good sized seperate bedrooms, a spacious shower room/wc and a magnificent balcony that spans the full length of the apartment. For your added convenience there is a heated ski/ boot room in the basement area. There is a good sized sauna and extra shower/wc available for guests to use. The facilities the apartment offers are:- Entrance vestibule area/shoe store, main door opening into a neat compact Kitchen area incorporating a large fridge/freezer, 4 ring hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, plenty of crockery, glasses, cutlery & cooking utensils. Open plan dining/kiving area with light oak pannelled walls and ceiling with intergrated spot lighting. Feature fireplace and flame effect fire, traditionally furnished to a high standard including a large sofabed, armchairs, display cabinet plenty of seating/storage/hanging hooks, small office area with free wi-fi for guests. Cable TV/DVD.I.pod dock, radio. French windows from living room opening onto a south facing balcony with amazing views.
Bedroom 1 has an Austrian Double Bed (2 singles together) large pine wardrobe, chest of drawers with plenty of storage space, full length mirror, Screen/DVD player, radio CD player, hairdryer, hot brush, 2 chairs, french windows opening onto the balcony with views.
2nd bedroom with single beds, draws/hanging rail/storage under beds, mirror, window with views. Well planned out shower room with "Power Shower" WC and washbasin, storage cupboards. Mirror, hairdryer, screen/DVD player.

The balcony is south facing and receives sun most of the day moving to the side of the property by the evening. The chalet is surrounded by a grassed area for communal use, we have deckchairs for you to use on the balcony, or you can sit out on the lawned area in the summer. The garden area is a pleasant and safe area for young children to play if supervised as it is not fenced off from the road. The side of the chalet has open views over fields. There is one designated off-street parking space for Gretl, when you arrive please observe which is the parking space for Apartment Gretl, a plan is available in the entrance hall of the Chalet. Very quiet and peaceful location, just a short strole from local restaurants and village amenities. Lovely walks from the door.

There is a cleaning charge of 19 euro per per and a local tourist tax of 1.10euro per day both of which have to be paid locally to the housekeeper on arrival. Further details are on our website.

Salzburgerland is beautiful Winter and Summer and is the home of "The Sound of Music". Viehhofen is located in the heart of Salzburgerland close to the popular ski resorts of Saalach/Hinterglemm. Known as the "Ski Circus Region" The beautiful turquoise river Saalach briskly flows along the tree lined valley, surrounded by the Gerkogel, Schmitt & Sausteige Mountains rising to 2,175 m with over 200km of Alpine skiing.
Nearby Zell-am-see offers an additional 200 km skiing and the Kaprun Glacier is open until the end of May each season. Snow cannons operate throughout the resort to guarantee a compelling ski experience. Viehhofen is a winter and summer resort and in the summer the area attracts thousands of walkers and bikers. The Cable car systems continues to operate from June - October for Walkers and bikers to access the mountains.
Other activities such as Quad biking, cross country skiing, ice skating, sleigh rides available in Winter and during the Summer months you can walk, golf, climb, horse ride, mountain bike ride, road cycle, white water rafting, canyoning or simply relax at one of the several outdoor pools either in Saalbach or Lake Zell-am-see where you are also able to swim sail or water-ski during the summer months. Scenic flights and gliding lessons are available from the nearby airport at Zell-am-See.
A must is a day trip to Salzburg, the provincal capital of Slalzburgerland which is within easy access from Viehhofen. Salzburg has a wealth of beautiful historic buildings and has the good fortune to have Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart the composer first see the light there in 1756. You can visit the Mozart Museum and his home where the composor composed his famous works. You can listen to his music as there are concerts nightly at different venue's throughout the city. There is a wonderful Christmas Market in the weeks leading upto Christmas, or just wonder around the pretty cobbled streets with quaint shops and medieval arcades. The castle located on a hill overlooking the city has magnificent views of the old town and the spectacular snow capped peaks of the Alpes in the distance. The "Sound of Music" tour is lovely for those fans wanting to re-trace the steps of the Family Von Trap during the 2nd world war. Information on the many tours is available from the local tourist office in Viehhofen or in Salzburg. There is an excellent train and bus service to Salzburg which takes around 1hr 30 mins. In summer visit the Glrossglockner Pass rising to 3,798m or take a trip up the Kaprun Glacier where you can ski in the morning and walk in the afternoon. This region has something for everyone Winter and Summer whatever your age.
The Saalbach / Viehhofen area
Viehhofen is a traditional Austrian Village full of charm. A quieter resort than Saalbach,/Hinterglemm, but it has everything you need for a very action packed ski holiday or adventure holiday in the Summer, or just simply relax and enjoy the sun and scenery around you . Convenient access to Ski School/Nursery Slopes. Ski bus stop to the nearest main lift. The village has its own Supermarket, Bank/ATM, Tourist office, 2 ski hire shopes and several lovely restaurants, apres bars to try. Ideal location for families and small groups. Suitabbkle for all levels of skier and boarders. Plenty of Winter and Summer activities
