Home description
You really can’t beat the location of this cottage – set on the ridge in the wonderful old smugglers town of Winchelsea with fantastic views across the valley to Camber Sands and Dover beyond.
The cottage has just undergone a complete refurbishment and makes a cosy and pretty home from home. The accommodation is on three floors and all the front rooms have wonderful views.
The south facing garden is very English in style, mature and tiered up a hill with a pretty waterfall and small pond (please beware with small children) and would be a real sun trap on fine days.
The cottage also has the use in the summer months of a shared heated swimming pool.

The South East England / Sussex region
Sussex is a county in South East England which has a long coastal area. The coastal towns include Hastings, Brighton, Worthing and Bognor.
The weather in Sussex is some of the best in Great Britain: it has on average more sunshine than any other mainland county.
Winchelsea area
Winchelsea is steeped in history being one of the largest ports on the south coast in early medieval times. The town is approached through an original 13th century arch and most of the cottages in the town have cellars where smuggled brandy was stored! Tours of some of these smugglers haunts can be arranged.
The wonderful sandy beaches of Winchelsea and Camber are within five minutes with miles of sand and lots of water sports – lessons are available! Rye, too, with its winding cobbled streets, antique shops and tea shops is well worth a visit.
Inland there are several National Trust places to visit, including Sissinghurst and Bodiam Castle.
