Home description
Willow Lodge is a pretty cottage dating back to 1898, in a lovely rural position with two good sized main rooms ideal for larger parties of guests. The rooms are light and sunny and have been traditionally furnished to complement the beams and style of this period property.
The cottage has three living areas giving all members of the party space to enjoy their holiday, from the comfortable and peaceful main sitting room with its banks of cream leather sofas and wooden parquet floor, to the cosy study where a TV is cleverly housed in a hidden cupboard, and open fireplace.
A particular feature of the cottage is the large light and airy conservatory, where there is dining for 12 as well as ample space for seating. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with every conceivable machine and would be ideal for catering for a large group.
Upstairs the main bedroom is very spacious and can be used as a family room if required. The owner has tried to cater for everyone’s needs and with this in mind the ground floor bedroom is equipped with an electric orthopaedic bed and en suite shower room.
Outside, besides the private decking area there are wonderful landscaped gardens to explore with stream, slide and picnic bench and over a wooden bridge the meadow beyond has a tennis court and koi/carp lake to enjoy.
We would ask because of the stream and lake that all children are supervised at all times.

The South East England / Sussex region
Picture yourself: picnicking with friends and a bottle of wine in a bluebell wood, kite surfing along an exhilarating shoreline, exploring a magical castle with the kids. Feels good? You can visit much of the best of Kent by rail, with the remainder a short cycle, walk or taxi ride away. You can do them all in Kent thanks to its unique blend of countryside, coast and breathtaking historic attractions - all perfect places to relax, refresh, inspire.
Rye / Ruckinge area
The cottage is close to the village of Ruckinge with its popular village pub (about 5 minutes walk away). The village itself is on the very edge of Romney Marsh beloved of artists for its wonderful skies and with walkers and bird watchers for the variety of wild life in a marshland area that has hardly changed since medieval times.
For golfers there are some wonderful links courses at Littlestone, Rye and Sandwich. The renowned smugglers town of Rye is within twelve miles with its winding narrow streets, antique shops and restaurants with the wonderful sandy beaches of Camber Sands beyond.
For children the wonderful sandy beaches of this part of Kent are nearby as is the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Light Steam Railway that winds its way along the coast for a truly special day out. For the more adventurous there are lots of water sports available.
The picturesque market town of Tenterden is within 10 miles and to the north is the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. For more ideas on places to visit please look at our ‘things to do’ section on the website.
