Key Info
  • Beach / lakeside relaxation
  • Great for children of all ages 5

  • Private garden

Open the garden gate, take 10 steps and you are on the beach! This family beach house is a great place for an easy-going traditional beach holiday. It is decorated in beach-house style with a large sunny sitting room with books and board games provided. Baby and toddler equipment available. Fully fenced garden.

Make sandcastles, look in the rockpools, go swimming, play frisbee on the sand or search for fossils by the cliffs. There is plenty here to keep children of all ages busy. Or just spend time in the sunny, fully enclosed garden with a summerhouse, table and chairs and badminton net. The area is unspoilt and not commercialised. A few minutes walk along the beach is a cafe for fish and chips and ice cream and The Smuggler Pub with pool table. There is a good farm shop nearby, with pick-your-own fruit fields and a small supermarket 5 minutes away by car.

Also suitable for those who like walking, birding and cycling in the unspoilt, beautiful surrounding countryside. Nearby are memorable National Trust properties eg Sissinghurst and Scotney, medieval towns eg Rye and Winchelsea and famous gardens eg Gt Dixter.

For a family day out there are 2 zoos (Howletts and Drusillas) 2 steam trains, (at Tenderden and Dymchurch) castles (Bodiam, Leeds castle) and in Hastings there is the Sealife Aquarium, crazy golf and a funicular railway up to the caves at the Smugglers' Adventure.

You will find antique shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants in the quaint streets of Rye and Hastings Old Town.

If you do not know this part of England you are in for a wonderful surprise.

The South East England region

This is an unspoilt part of Southern England. There are historic towns with quaint cobbled streets and beautiful green countryside to explore, as well as the coastline with its nature reserves. Many places of interest such as the site of the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and castles and stately homes such as Leeds Castle and Bodiam. Antique shops, cafes and restaurants are a speciality in nearby Rye. Hastings has an interesting Old Town with a beach launched fishing fleet, iconic net drying huts and new art gallery with cafe.

Rye

There are many places of interest to visit such as the site of the Battle of Hastings in 1066 and castles and stately homes, such as Leeds Castle and Bodiam Castle. There are some excellent cycle trails (mostly flat) along the coast. Wonderful walking along by the sea or through the countryside, across fields and up the coastal path to the cliffs, or following the course of the Old Military Canal built to deter Napoleon.

"Beautiful beach house in beautiful location."

A lovely beach house, 10 steps from the beach, that has a fossilised forest dating back 10000 years. What's not to like! Comfortable, clean and roomy .… More
