Welcome to 1066 country - home of historical houses, castles, gardens and medieval towns. Rolling countryside, beautiful views and glorious beaches.Rye is a beautiful Cinque port town, full of lovely medieval buildings and winding cobbled streets.

It has plenty to offer, whether exploring antique shops, art galleries or sampling local produce in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars. It's well known for its November bonfire celebrations, but also has the Rye Scallop festival, Wildboar week and an art festival to name but a few.

Hastings, Battle and Bodium are nearby and the unspoilt kentish town of Tenterden is just a short drive away.

There are many National Trust properties, castles and gardens to visit and the steam train at Tenterden. There are also plenty of walks through the rolling countryside, cycle routes and beaches to explore.
