San Gerado is a delightful single storey, extended and modernised original 1920's timber property originally built for city worn Londoners to come and enjoy the delights of the Sussex Coast. It is located on a non through sand road which is 2 minutes' walk to the beach through the dunes. The extension to the front of the property is architect designed and provides a light and airy living space with folding patio doors on to a timber deck. There are many original features still remaining but is now complete with all modern conveniences and entertainment for a perfect seaside holiday at any time of year.

Entrance

The front door opens in to the entrance to the left of the main living area with a clever storage area housing the oak garden furniture and beach towels. Immediately in front is a bunk room with beds and wall lights making a small but comfortable room perfect for children. The main living area consisting of the kitchen, dining and seating area has been decorated and furnished with a mixture of contemporary and traditional furnishings, with painted wooden floorboards and an original G plan dining table and 1950's kitchen units. There is a lovely wood-burning stove which makes the property cosy on cooler days and is lovely to curl up in front of after enjoying a blustery day on the beach. There are 2 sofas and a TV with Freeview, DVD and Blu-ray.

The kitchen is well equipped with and electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer kettle and toaster. The cupboards have plenty of storage space for food items and wall cupboards and plate racks hold an ample supply of crockery. The dining table seats six people comfortably.

To the rear of the house are the two double bedrooms both decorated in lovely fresh colours with comfortable beds and quality bedlinen. Chests of drawers and bedside tables with lamps provide everything you need for restful nights. The family bathroom between the bedrooms has been tiled in seaside colours and has a bath with electric shower, sink WC and heated towel rail.

The gate from the parking area leads into the secure fenced garden with lawned area and planted willow screening to the side. There is a full width timber deck to the front with wooden gazebo with shading and garden furniture and BBQ for enjoying relaxed evenings together.

Booking information

Dogs accepted for an additional charge of £20 per dog per stay, please remember that dogs are not allowed to be left unattended in the property at any time. Strictly no smoking in this property. Prices include bed linen, towels, all utilities, pre-arrival and departure cleaning and a welcome pack.The changeover day for weekly bookings is Saturday in the high season. Other start days may be possible on request in the low and mid-season. Short breaks may commence on any day.

There is a £24 booking fee per holiday and a £250 security deposit is required prior to arrival which can be pre-authorised on a credit/debit card.

Rye

Camber Sands beach is a huge stretch of golden sands backed by sand dunes and is only a two hour's drive from London. It is being newly rediscovered as a UK holiday destination of choice and was voted number 9 of the 100 Best Beaches in the World by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. The unspoilt beauty of the beach as well as its sheer size have made it a popular location for fashion photo shoots and films including doubling as the Sahara Desert in a 'Carry On' film and as the Dunkirk evacuation beaches in several war epics. It a popular location for horse-riding and kite-surfing. The shallow sea is ideal for children. The famous market town of Rye is only a few minutes drive away.

Camber has become a popular place for water sports and it is a great place for kite surfing, windsurfing, water skiing, wake boarding and jet skiing that are all available locally either from the beach or on a large coastal lake just outside Camber. There is also sailing on the river Rother 3 miles from Camber.

For swimming, the beach boasts a yellow flag award from the MCS, the highest UK award for water quality standards. Golf lovers are well catered for with an impressive 44 courses within a 30 mile radius. Tennis courts and bicycle hire are also available locally. There are many local walks with natural and historical points of interest.

The village of Camber has a couple of pubs including The Dunes café and restaurant, and the award-winning Gallivant Bistro Restaurant which has a range of delicious dishes made from local, free range and organic ingredients with BBQ's in the summer. The Kit Kat Cafe is ideal for children being located right on the beach on the beach. The medieval town of Rye is about an 8 min drive and this also offers an excellent selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants. Alternatively buy and barbecue your own fresh seafood!
