Welcome to ...Ocean 17 ....

Ocean 17, is located moments from the beach at the foot of the sand dunes at Camber and is one of our larger 2 bedroom self-catering seaside holiday houses, The house is part of a pioneering, boutique development combining contemporary design with the latest Eco-friendly technologies. The accommodation is set out over 3 floors with a contemporary feel using modern and stylish furnishings and colonial style shutters in all rooms. The Master Bedroom has an 7ft emperor bed! and the children's bedroom has bunk beds with a pull-out truckle bed underneath and in the downstairs Denis a sofa bed!

Ground floor: Through the front door into a small entrance hall with stairs to the first floor. Immediately to the right is a door in to a garage /utility room. This area houses a full size table tennis table, 2 adult bikes one with a child seat and the second with a "piggy back " attachment for a child to travel in comfort while the adult does all the hard pedalling ! Body boards, beach mats and picnic chairs. Washing machine and tumble drier and drying line for wet suits.

Door through to downstairs "Den " Newly decorated with sisal flooring and a lovely cosy feel with two sumptuous sofas ( one of which converts to a sofa bed ). Side tables, book cases with a variety of games. 30" flat screen TV with DVD and Full Sky Plus HD and internet access. Patio door to small patio area and communal dunescape.

First floor: Stairs from the hall lead to an open plan sitting dining area. This room has been decorated in an eclectic style with a mix of modern and vintage furnishings in a variety of colours, giving a very relaxed feel to the room. Table seating six with wooden chairs and a small church pew. Dresser housing glassware and table linens. Two small sofas and side table .

Kitchen situated at one end of this room with electric cooker and hob, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher.

Double patio doors opening onto decked area with small table. Stairs down to communal dunescape. This deck is not secure and the outside area is open onto the road at one end. Small children should be supervised.

Second floor: Stairs up to landing with family bathroom. Sink, WC and bath with overhead shower.

Children's bunk room with bunks and pull out third mattress. Chest of drawers, desk and plenty of books and games.

Third Floor: Master bedroom with emperor 7ft bed! Bedside lamps, dressing table with driftwood mirror. Storage cupboard. Patio doors to private balcony with two deckchairs.

En-suite bathroom with power shower, WC and sink.

Sleeps 5 plus 2 with sofa bed.

Internet access. DVD player with a selection of CDs and DVDs, Sky Plus and HD, Board games, Books, Towels, Beach Towels, Bed linen, body boards, beach mats and picnic chairs, ping pong table,1 adult bike (bike ridden at your own risk). Dishwasher, Washing machine and dryer and drying line for wet suits.

The South East England / Sussex region

Camber Sands beach boasts miles of golden sandy beach that are protected by the sand dunes that are unique to this area. Camber Sands is a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive from London or you can get the fast train to Ashford from London or Europe and a short taxi ride to Ocean 17 at Camber.

For swimming, the beach has a yellow flag award, the highest UK award for water quality standards. Golfers have many courses to enjoy in the area. Tennis courts are based in Rye together with bikes to hire which can be used on the miles of bike routes together with fantastic local walks. This area is a bird watcher paradise!

Camber Sands Beach has been used for many films over the years serving as a the Sahara Desert in the 'Carry On' films and uses in the beaches at Dunkirk in various war films. It is constantly used for fashion shoots as well. The beach is a great place for horse riding and is a firm favourite for those kite and bugging surfing. Other water sports enjoyed locally are windsurfing, sailing and jet skiing and these can all be done with Rye Water Sports based in Camber.

The perfect base to explore 1066 country, with its countless historic houses, gardens and villages, the dramatic wilderness of Dungeness and the ancient medieval Cinque Port of Rye all on our doorstep.

The Rye / Camber Sands area

The Gallivant Restaurant/Bistro has the celebrated chef Bruce Wilson, formerly of the Michelin starred Greenhouse restaurant and most recently the head chef at the Tate Modern in central London. There is the cafe on the beach, The Dunes Bar all within easy walking of Ocean 17.

The medieval town of Rye, just 8 mins drive away which also offers a multitude of wonderful pubs, restaurants and cafes and the Rye Deli. Fresh fish can be bought locally in Rye and in Camber there is Salts Farm Shop which sells wonderful local produce to eat.
