Sandy Brae at Camber Sands is a Seaside Holiday Cottage which is dog friendly and situated immediately behind the dunes on Camber Sands beach. It is a lovely holiday home with flexible accommodation sleeping up to seven people. With a partial sea view and a two-minute walk to the beach, Sandy Brae has recently been tastefully restored by the owners and has an environmentally-friendly heating system, a log burner and solar panels for hot water. There is secure parking for three cars, on the drive, one inside the garage and one additional space on the road. Sandy Brae is the last house on the track so there is minimal through traffic. Sandy Brae has recently been awarded a 4 star grading by the English Tourist Board.

Ground floor
There is a large fully fitted kitchen with all amenities, including electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, breakfast bar and a dining area. Leading from the kitchen is the utility room with washing machine and freezer and a separate cloakroom with WC and basin. Door to garden.
The sitting room is warm and cosy with a wood burner and two sofas, 32” flat screen TV with DVD player, VHS player, CD player with iPod docking system. There is a second sitting room called “The Library” with a leather sofa which converts to a double bed - please see below information on this.
First floor
The master bedroom (The Boat Room) has a double bed, chest of drawers and plenty of storage and partial sea view. Ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower, WC and basin.
Double Bedroom (The Captains Quarter) bedside table and lights, chest of drawers and large walk in wardrobe. Bunk bedroom (The Rock Room) with 3ft bunk beds, chest of drawers and partial sea view. Single Bedroom (The Travellers Cabin) with single bed, bedside table and light with Velux window.
There is also a family bathroom upstairs with shower and large bath, WC and basin. Sandy Brae can sleep up to 5 adults and 2 children in the bunk room.

Please note: The sofabed should be booked with prior arrangement only and there is an additional charge of £6 per night, per person.
Sandy Brae is well stocked with games and a large selection of videos, DVDs and books for both adults and children. There are two mountain bikes, a child's bike with stabilisers, as well as a small trampoline (please use these at your own risk). Travel cot, high chair and stair gate. There is a charcoal BBQ and also a portable BBQ for the beach.

Outside
The rear garden has an extensive decking area and lawn with a large table and chairs for al fresco dinning and BBQ's. The garage has an additional fridge and a hanging space for all wet suits, beach toys and towels.

Strictly no smoking in this property. This property is happy to accept two dogs. There is a £20 fee per dog per stay which must be pre-booked. Please remember that dogs are not allowed to be left unattended in the property at any time.
Prices include bed linen, towels, beach towels, all utilities, pre-arrival and departure cleaning and a welcome pack.
The changeover day for weekly bookings is a Saturday in high season. Other start days may be possible on request in the low and mid-season. Short breaks may commence on any day.
There is a £24 booking fee per holiday and a £250 security deposit is required prior to arrival which can be pre-authorised on a credit/debit card.

The Rye / Camber Sands area
Camber Sands beach is a huge stretch of golden sands enclosed by sand dunes that protect the beach at Camber. It is only a two hour's drive from London. It is being newly rediscovered as a UK holiday destination of choice and was voted number 9 of the 100 Best Beaches in the World by The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. The unspoilt beauty of the beach as well as its sheer size have made it a popular location for fashion photo shoots and films including doubling as the Sahara Desert in a 'Carry On' film and as the Dunkirk evacuation beaches in several war epics. it a popular location for horse-riding and kite-surfing. The shallow sea is ideal for children. The famous market town of Rye is only a few minutes drive away.
Camber has become a popular place for water sports and it is a great place for kitesurfing, windsurfing, water skiing, wake boarding and jet skiing are all available locally either from the beach or on a large coastal lake just outside Camber. There is also sailing on the river Rother 3 miles from Camber.
For swimming, the beach boasts a yellow flag award from the MCS, the highest UK award for water quality standards. Golf lovers are well catered for with an impressive 44 courses within a 30 mile radius. Tennis courts and bicycle hire are also available locally. There are many local walks with natural and historical points of interest.
The village of Camber has a couple of pubs including The Dunes café and restaurant, and the award-winning The Gallivant at the Beach Bar and has a range of delicious dishes made from local, free range and organic ingredients with BBQ's in the summer. The Kit Kat Club is ideal for children and meals on the beach. The medieval town of Rye is about an 8 min drive and this also offers an excellent selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants. Alternatively buy and barbecue your own fresh seafood!

Travel Directions:
By car: Camber is 2 miles off the A259, half-way Hastings and Ashford in Kent. The fastest route from London is the M25 is down the M20 to junction 10, then take the A2070 and A259. It is about a 2 hour journey from Central London.
By train: Rye Station. Hourly direct train service from Ashford International (20 minutes), Hastings (20 minutes), Eastbourne and Brighton. Trains to Ashford from London St Pancras (37 minutes), Lille Europe (55 minutes), Brussels Midi (1hr 35 minutes) and Paris Nord (2 hours).
Bus: From Rye Train Station take the 100 bus which runs every hour and takes about 10 minutes to Camber.
Bikes are available to hire in Rye. There's a two mile off-road paved cycle path from Rye to Camber.
