The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
With 300 sunny days per year, Provence is an all-year round destination. L'Amandier is 10km from Apt with all its amenities and huge Saturday morning market. A further 15-minute drive leads you on a tour of all the famous Provencal towns made famous by Peter Mayle and his books including Gordes, Roussillon, Menerbes, Bonnieux and Lourmarin.
Rustrel area
Rustrel is famed for its 'Colorado Provencal', with its surreal multi-coloured cliffs of ochre and its numerous walking trails, all a short walk from L'Amandier. A drive over the Plateau d'Albion, a mountain range that shields Rustrel from the elements, leads to Sault, the lavendar capital of Provence with its huge radiant fields that come to life in Summer. A walk through Rustrel's old town leads you past an imposing 17th century chateau and on to the moulin á huile, an old olive oil producer. Finally Provence wouldn't be Provence without its numerous vineyards surrounding the village where it would be rude not to go along for a tasting!

"My sister and I have visited many villas in France over the years. We found l'Amandier to be one of the best. It was more like staying in someone's well-loved home more than renting a holiday villa. We found the villa to be in an ideal location, both in terms of visiting the area, as well as being near to a boulangerie, restaurants and local grocery shop. All in all we had an excellent holiday." Jayne & guests, Northern Ireland, July 2008
"Thanks very much for the use of L'Amandier: it's been the best place of many that we've rented in France over about 20 years." John & Anne, Carshalton, July 2008
"We had a lovely time and thank you for giving us such a wonderful base from which we explored many of the gorgeous villages in this region. We would certainly recommend your villa to others." Frank & Pippa, Kew, Australia, June 2008

"This is only a short note but I just want to let you know that everything at the house was marvellous and we had a wonderful time. Everything lived up to and exceeded expectations... we would definitely love to come back!" Glynis & Keith, Norway, July 2007
"We had a fantastic time, just so relaxing, the village was just so lovely, the villa was just as it looked on your site, a great place to chill out with the added bonus of cheap wine! We loved it!." The McGilp family, Edinburgh, July 2007
"I definitely want to visit your lovely house (we have put it into our file for special grownup holidays) at some point as it remains one of the best presented and organised houses on offer. Love the arrangement for wine, the books, cd, dvd, games collection. Your website is also one of the best laid out, with great pictures and easy to read. Hope to visit in the not too distant future." Mimma, Australia, June 2007
"We had a fantastic time at the villa, which catered for our every need. There were so many thoughtful touches and it was great relaxing by the pool and barbecuing on the terrace. The villa was so lovely we didn't leave it much! We would love to come back one day!" Katherine & James, London, June 2007
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in colourful Rustrel. It's a super location for exploring Provence. The villa is lovely – very comfortable, stylishly decorated and with lots of thoughtful details. We hope to return." Alice & Stephen, Edinburgh, June 2007
