Home description

Sevilla Villa is a stunning four bedroomed villa overlooking Runaway Bay Golf Course and the sea on the north coast of Jamaica, 90 minutes drive from Montego Bay airport and just 20 minutes west of the tourist mecca of Ocho Rios.
The villa is built in a horseshoe shape around an outdoor oval swimming pool that holds 23,000 gallons of water with a spacious veranda to sit and relax in the sun and enjoy spectacular views across the golf course to the sea. We have friendly staff who will look after you to make sure your holiday is comfortable and enjoyable.
The villa is only five minutes walk from the sea and a beautiful sandy beach where we have access to a private beach and bar.
Runaway Bay is a small, idyllic community near to such famed attractions as Dunn’s River Falls, Fern Gully, Green Grotto Caves, Cranbrook Flower Forest and Carinosa Gardens. Within a short distance of the villa, you can find an assortment of recreational activities including golf, tennis, horse back riding, polo, scuba diving and various water sports. Ocho Rios is only 20 minutes away with its lively nightlife, enticing restaurants and native markets that make shopping for souvenirs an adventure.
Runaway Bay Golf and Country Club has for golfers a magnificent 18-hole championship course which measures 6884 yards and the back gate of the villa opens onto the 17th fairway.

The villa is situated on a hillside so that the cool trade winds blow over the veranda and through the rooms. After a swim in the pool, a favourite pastime for many is to relax on the veranda with a good book, or a cocktail and simply enjoy the breathtaking view of the golf course, the gardens and the ocean beyond. The villa grounds are beautifully landscaped with such tropical plants as bougainvillea, poinsettia, hibiscus and aloe vera.

Our residential area has it’s own private beach just a short walk away. Stretch out and enjoy a pleasant cool drink in the shade of the almond trees.

Runaway Bay / Ocho Rios area

Ochos Rios, Jamaica has come a long way from its fishing village roots. Ever since Errol Flynn, Ralph Lauren, and Ian Fleming discovered the area back in the 1940s, people have been flocking here for a respite from whatever ails them. Today, play is the thing as Ochos Rios has become one of Jamaica's hottest tourist spots. Each year, thousands flock to "Ochie" to sample the local cuisine, play in the area's many natural attractions, and soak up some Caribbean sunshine. A day's itinerary can include swimming, deep-sea fishing, pleasure boating, windsurfing, parasailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, horseback riding, or just lounging on a beautiful beach while working on your tan.

Ochos Rios has many natural attractions that beg for a visit. Dunn's River Falls is one of the most popular attractions on the island, and certainly the most photographed. You can follow a guide as you climb the 600-ft. falls to the top where you are greeted by pools filled with cool, refreshing mountain water. Or, you can stay at the bottom and splash in the waters cascading off the falls. You don't even have to leave the comfort of your car to experience the Fern Gully, a three mile stretch of road that features over 500 varieties of ferns, as well as an abundance of the area's other fauna specimens. The ferns are so tall, they form a canopy over the road, meeting in the middle to provide a tropical shade.

Jamaica is famous for its beautiful beaches, and Ochos Rios certainly has its fair share. Mallards Beach, in the centre of Ochos Rios, is full of the activities one usually associates with a thriving beach community. Crowded when the cruise ships come in, Mallards is for those who like to mix people-watching with beach fun. Another popular spot is Turtle Beach, a smaller, less crowded beach with brilliant white sand that slopes gently into the ocean, a great place for those with small children. You can also toss down a towel at Dunn's River Beach, located just below the famous falls. This beach is great for those who want to don some snorkeling gear and head to the reef located just off shore. Other watersports like parasailing, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, and kayaking are also available.

History buffs, and folks who love a good ghost story, will want to visit the Rose Hall Great House, located 8 miles east of Montego Bay. This is the most famous great house on all of Jamaica. Built between 1778-17790 by John Palmer, a wealthy British farmer, the house served as a 6,600 acre sugar plantation. It was Annie Palmer, wife of the builder's grandson, who made the house famous. Annie was said to have dabbled in voodoo, and legend has it she murdered three of her husbands while they slept. Her story and the house has been the subject of at least 12 Gothic novels, the most famous being White Witch of Rose Hall by H.G. deLisser.

Ochos Rios has something for every vacationer. Literati will want to visit the homes of some of the world's most famous authors. James Bond fans will want to visit Goldeneye, the home built by Ian Fleming who created the famous secret agent. Noel Coward's home, Firefly, is also available for touring. Music fans will want to take a side trip to the Bob Marley Centre and Mausoleum. The facility houses Marley's tomb, his former home, Nine Mile, as well as a gift shop selling Marley memorabilia. Foodies will want to sample the jerk chicken or pork. If you are looking to spend some time in the Caribbean sun, set your compass for Ochos Rios.
